Assistant GM, Nosal Reflore: "ncoramwx made this deal on a marginal hotel wi-fi connection at a ski lodge in Vermont. Since the phone signal was too weak, he verbally agreed with Jared Cowen via Skype, then Cowen and I signed the deal with his agent present here. Cowen will not only give us an emergency boost to our defense corps, but will also help our salary floor situation, since Bettman is probably cursing at us in his sleep right now. The salary floor is mindless!" Cowen replaces Murphy at LD3.
1/5/17: Dahlbeck returns and moves to RD3. Tennyson is a healthy scratch. Also, AGM Nosal Reflore is fired by ncoramwx for his comments. Finally, the Hurricanes lose 3-2 @ STL.
1/6/17: Rask returns to the lineup. Samuelsson is sent down. C1 is Rask, C2 is Letestu, C3 is Kruger, C4 is Nestrasil. Staal will be back soon. Finally, the Hurricanes lose 4-3 @ CHI.

1/10: 4-3 OTW vs. CBJ, within one point of the CBJ for the last playoff spot. Matt Murray (18-15-0, 2.65 GAA/.913 pct, 35 GP) gets hurt with a swollen knee, Michael Leighton (78) is the callup, and is actually named the starter. In 13 games (4-5-0), Lack has a .880 save percentage and a 3.68 GAA. In this season thus far in the AHL, in 14 games (7-4-0), Leighton has a 1.55 GAA and a .947 save percentage.
1/11: Staal back in the lineup. Murphy to the AHL. Staal C1, Rask C2, Letestu C3, Kruger C4, Nordstrom LW4, Nestrasil RW4. Murray is the only remaining injury.

Meanwhile, remember that 1st rounder I traded for from St. Louis? They finished tied for dead last in the league. Good chance we go #1 overall.

Leading goal scorer Teuvo Teravainen (23-40--63). Artemi Panarin finished with 22-37--59. As for goalies, Murray finished with a 2.58 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Lack had a 3.07 GAA with a .900 save percentage.

4/10 - Head Coach Noah Taylor is fired. Taylor went 73-75-16 (162 points, .493 pts percentage) in two seasons as head coach.

So I'm playing NHL 17 as the Carolina hurricanes and I checked the updates to see who was on waivers that had gotten claimed. Then I see players who were put on waivers that weren't claimed that I would of claimed had the notification popped up for me. I checked my salary cap and player contracts and they were both good. However some players that are on waivers show up and I can claim them. However this is more rare then players sliding through. this has happened to serval of my franchise modes.anybody know anything?

4/9 - 3-1 W vs. CBJ. The NYR gain a point in their final game, so the first round opponent for the Nordiques will be the New York Rangers, home ice to Quebec.
4/10 - Finalized seedings. The winner of the Nordiques-NYR series gets the PIT-CBJ winner. Pittsburgh won the East while Columbus got in as the last wild card.
Division winners from best to worst record: CHI (President's Trophy), PIT (East winner), Dallas, Buffalo. No non division winners did any bettter than the four division winners; seven teams got 100 points: the four division winners, STL, BOS, QC.
As for the Nordiques season, the final record was 45-26-11, good for 101 points, 2nd in the Metro, 4th in the East and 7th in the NHL. The top goal and point scorer was Jack Eichel (43-46--89, albeit some is from Buffalo.) The top assist scorer was Artemi Panarin (17-48--65; he stepped it up as the season went on). Mitch Marner had 15-40--55. As for defensive regulars, everyone but Brady Skjei got >10 points: Ekblad 13-35--48, Hanifin 10-21--31, Bean 9-10--19, McAvoy 3-13--16, Trouba 3-12--15, Skjei 1-4--5. In his 14 games, Haydn Fleury scored 2 goals and no assists. Back to forwards, Miller impressed with 24-28--52, as did Pastrnak with 23-27--50; fed in part by Marchessault, who was a playmaking machine at 9-37--46.

Pastrnak got hurt in this game and would have been out for about a week had we moved on. Great season, great building block for the future. Eichel finished the playoffs as Quebec's top scorer (4-12--16, also the leader in assists), followed by Aho (4-8--12) and Panarin (6-4--12, also leader in goals). (If you're wondering, the AHL team missed the playoffs.)
5/23 - Stanley Cup Final: LA Kings vs. Columbus Blue Jackets. CBJ is on a Cinderella run, beating the top seeded (and tied with CHI for the most points - tiebreaker to CHI) PIT in 6 then the Nordiques in 7 then BOS in 7. CBJ got in with the lowest amount of points of any East playoff team, with only one West team having less (COL, 88, and they also took out the top seed in their conference, beating CHI in 7 in round one, before being slammed in 5 games by STL). Meanwhile, LA made it in as the Pacific Division winner. They decimated WPG in 4 games, smashed VAN in 5, and rolled over STL in 5.
6/3 - LA comes back from a 3-1 series deficit to force a winner take all Game 7. (I can actually track this now because I made the playoffs!)
6/4 - Columbus wins the Stanley Cup in a Game 7. Their AHL affiliate, the Cleveland Monsters, won the Calder Cup.

This is my first post on here. I've always done the GM thing going back to the 2K versions on the original Xbox. It was always a fun thing for me to do. I'm playing NHL16 on the PS3. Superstar difficulty, Trades medium. I'm currently on a first contract as the Sabres GM. First season was a wash (dump contracts, attempt to tank and finished 22nd overall). During that season I swapped picks with Calgary and got first overall (Matthews). Traded with Winnipeg at the draft (Two future first and Franson for their first [G. F. Jake Guentzel leads the team in points and assists with 8-22--30, in no small part thanks to the Jack Eichel injury taking points from him, allowing Guentzel (the C2) to collect more points. The leader in goals is Mitch Marner (12-17--29), but Julien Gauthier (11-12--23) and Jack Eichel (10-12--22) are in close for the goal race. Artemi Panarin is in sole possession of 8th in goals (7-17--24) which is underwhelming for being the one labeled our top line sniper.

Let's do a goalie update Impressively, Daniel Altshuller is the best goalie with a full time roster position (backup or starter) in the NHL right now, with a 1.78 GAA and .941 save percentage in 18 GP (10-3-2, 3 no decisions), leading the league in both of the first two categories of goalies with 10 or more games played. MEanwhile, Thatcher Demko has a .914 save percentage and 2.67 GAA, both best among rookie starters, with a 27-18-2 record in 47 GP. 4/5 - 3-1 L vs. NYR. WSH is idle. A loss of any type in the next game (or one point by WSH) means WSH clinches the division
4/6 - 4-1 W vs. NYI. WSH loses in regulation, 3-1 vs CBJ. Both teams have one game left. 102 points QC, 103 points WSH. Due to the ROW tiebreaker, WSH needs one point in their final game to win regardless of what we do. The only scenario where the Nordiques can win the division is a WSH regulation loss AND any win by the Nordiques vs. Anaheim on 4/9.
4/7 - In real life, I am a Boston Bruins fan. The Bruins TV broadcasters, NESN, give out a 7th Player Award every year as voted on by the fans. While I won't be doing any fan voting, I will be giving out a 7th Player Award for my Nordiques GM mode right before the start of the playoffs, to the player that went above and beyond my expectations this season.
4/8 - WSH loses their final game in regulation, 5-0 vs. last place in the Metro Pittsburgh (and last place by a lot). QC controls their own destiny - a win to get the top seed in the Metro. The Metro winner will also win the Eastern Conference and the Presidents' Trophy because we have 102 points, WSH has 103, and the other East division winner, Boston, has finished their season with 102 points, and nobody else in the NHL (including the West) can exceed 100.
4/9 - 6-0 W @ ANA and the Nordiques win the Presidents' Trophy!!!
4/10 - END OF REGULAR SEASON REPORT:
Leading goal and point scorer (team): Jack Eichel (42-40--82)

Jonathan Drouin also finished with over 40 assists (18-41--59, albeit some with Tampa)

Not that it is the most important stat but every full timer on the team finished with a plus minus of 10 or better except for Jake Guentzel (+6), Marcus Kruger (+4), David Pastrnak (-2), Sebastian Aho (-4) and Vladislav Namestnikov (-7, some with Tampa).
Everyone with playing time recorded at least one point except Warren Foegele (3 GP); the only other non-goal scoer was Trevor Carrick (26 GP and 5 assists), and the only other non assist scorer was Keaton Thompson (13 GP, 1 goal).
As for the goalies, Thatcher Demko had a 2.59 GAA, .915 save percentage, and 36-23-3 record in 63 GP, while Daniel Altshuller had a 1.95 GAA, a .934 sv%, 13-5-2 record, and 2 assists in 23 GP.
As a team, we gave up 214 goals, good for a tie with WSH for seventh fewest in the league, while scoring 263 goals, one behind Tampa for most in the league. This results in a team +/- of +49.

And the winner of the 2019-20 7th Player Award is....
Julien Gauthier. 27-29--56, good for second on the team in goals, seventh in assists (on a team deep with 30+ assist guys), tied with Noah Hanifin for third best +/- value at +24, from a second year player who had a 30 point increase over last year, a massive improvement defensively. He also had 6 PPGs, third best on the team, and one of only three players to score a SHG (JT Miller and Timothy Liljegren, all three with one SHG.)

Meanwhile, the Pacific Division was pathetic: the Anaheim Ducks made the playoffs with 82 points and 32 ROW, good for 3rd in the Pacific and 23rd in the NHL! Seven other teams missed the playoffs with better records (DAL/92, NJ/88, NYI/86, DET/84, BUF/83, COL 82/33 ROW). Had the Canucks (81 points, 35 ROW) gotten one more point, they would have been playoff bound; same thing if the Coyotes (79 pts, 35 ROW) had gotten three more points. Four more for the Flames (79 points, 25 ROW) also. With Anaheim's awfulness and LA's dominance in the division, who else qualified from the Pacific? San Jose (95 points, 36 ROW). The Metro was the toughest with five 96+ point teams making the playoffs and the rest being 88 points or below.

These playoff matchups are hilarious and show why the current NHL playoff system is badly broken. The Sharks got rewarded for finishing 2nd instead of 1st in the Pacific, and the Kings get a much tougher draw for getting first place; ditto St. Louis, who as the best record should be playing the worst record. Meanwhile, the two worst teams in the East get to play each other and avoid Quebec and Boston, who instead get tougher draws. This whole thing is broken.
Anyway, we get the NY Rangers, and the winner of our series gets the winner of WSH vs. PHI. This is a rematch of last year's first round matchup, except now the Nordiques are Presidents' Trophy winners, whereas it was a 2 v 3 matchup last year.

4/11 - START OF PLAYOFFS: Round One, Game One: 2-0 L vs. NYR. NYR lead series 1-0.
4/13 - Round 1, Game 2: 1-0 W vs. NYR. Lone goal by Marchessault, assisted by McAvoy and Miller in the 2nd period. Each team took 30 SOG. Thatcher Demko is injured after 12 saves and 24 minutes of the game (early 2nd period); Daniel Altshuller makes his NHL playoff debut to relieve the remaining 60 minutes and makes 18 saves in a shared shutout. Postgame, Jonas Johansson (76) is called up to back up Altshuller. Series tied 1-1.
4/15 - 3-2 OTW @ NYR. Rangers go up 1-0 early in the 3rd, then Gauthier scores less than a minute later to tie it. 2:15 later, Jack Eichel puts QC up 2-1, then 53 seconds later the Rangers tie it. Gauthier scores 1:15 into OT to win it with his second of the night. Mitch Marner has 3 assists, and Eichel and Ekblad also get helpers. Altshuller made 30 saves. QC leads series 2-1
4/17 - 2-1 W @ NYR. 22 saves for Altshuller. Rangers go up 1-0 in the first. Eichel scores in the 2nd, then Kruger scores early in the 3rd. Assists to Ekblad, Marner, and Miller (one each). QC leads series 3-1
4/18 - Demko is available and will start Game Five. Johansson is scratched but I choose to give Gordon Franson a chance to finally be the starter in the AHL for the playoffs there, partially to protect our top AHL goalie in case he is needed at the NHL level again.
4/19 - 2-1 2OTL vs. NYR. Jake Bean opens the scoring late in the first (assists: Eichel and McAvoy). The Rangers tie it late in the third, then win it early in double overtime. Demko made 35 saves. QC leads series 3-2
4/21 - 4-1 L @ NYR. Demko with 30 saves. JT Miller our only goal, from Rantanen and Marchessault, in the second period. Rangers scored in the first and three times in the third (incluidng an ENG). Series tied 3-3
4/22 - All four Eastern series are going to a Game 7, but none of the Western series will do so. With a goalie controversy on his hands, Coach Stevens decides to keep riding Thatcher Demko in Game 7 tomorrow, even though Daniel Altshuller has had a better series (despite the injury to Demko, both have played great and with similar time) and Altshuller got all three wins.
4/23 - 6-3 W vs. NYR. The Nordiques hit the gas fast, going up 4-0 in the first period, all in the first ten minutes (the four goals were 5:03 apart). The Rangers tallied one a few minutes later, and the score is 4-1 after one. The Rangers score early in the second, before Quebec quickly strikes. The Nordiques tally another one late in the second and it is 6-2 after two. New York tallied a goal in the third. Quebec goals came from Drouin, Eichel, Ekblad, Guentzel, Marner, and Pastrnak, and assists came from Guentzel twice, Pastrnak twice, Drouin, Ekblad, Marner, Gauthier, Marchessault, and Demko. The GWG was at 7:57 of the first: Drouin from Guentzel and Pastrnak. Kruger gets hurt, and is replaced by Namestnikov at C4 and Carrick at LW4 postgame. QC wins series 4-3, will play winner of WSH/PHI Game 7 on 4/24

4/25 - Despite the Game 7 win, the goalie controversy intensifies. In 4 full appearances and an additional period and some change, Demko has a 2.12 GAA and .929 sv%, but Game 7 was not his greatest night, and he was the losing goalie in the three losses. Meanwhile, Altshuller, in two full games and a majority of a third game, carried three of the four wins and was brilliant with a .958 save percentage and a 1.14 GAA. Coach Stevens announces that Altshuller will start Game One vs. WSH.

4/26 - Round 2, Game 1: 8-0 W vs. WSH, and Holtby was in net for all eight goals against. 2 goals in the first and three goals in the other two periods. Jonathan Drouin had a hat trick and two assists for a five point night. Jake Guentzel also had five points: a goal and four assists. Mitch Marner had 4 points, with a goal an dthree assists. Jack Eichel had a goal and an assists. Jake Bean and Vladislav Namestnikov also scored a goal each, and Aaron Ekblad, Julien Gauthier, Noah Hanifin, and Jonathan Marchessault each had an assist. Altshuller had a 24 save shutout. QC leads series 1-0
4/28 - 3-1 W vs. WSH. JT Miller opened the scoring, then Noah Hanifin scored the GWG to make it 2-0 in the second period. Hanifin scored again in the third to make it 3-1. Assists went to Marchessault, Liljegren (his first NHL playoff point), Gauthier, Eichel, Marner, and Pastrnak, all one each. Altshuller had 18 saves on 19 shots. Ekblad gets hurt. McAvoy moves to RD1, Liljegren to RD2, and Carrick's stint as a seventh defenseman playing forward ends as he moves to RD3. Nick Suzuki is called up to take LW4. QC leads series 2-0

5/14 - 3-0 W @ TB. Rantanen out the rest of the playoffs (Aho RW3, Suzuki RW4). Series tied 2-2
5/16 - 3-2 L vs. TB. Aho and Hanifin 1G/1A each, Miller 2A, Altshuller 28 saves, TB leads series 3-2. Meanwhile, in the WCF, NSH closes out MIN in a 4-1 series win, so the winner of the ECF will play NSH in the SCF.
5/18 - 2-1 OTW @ TB. McAvoy scores in the first, assists to Marchessault and Altshuller. Tampa scores in the third (Kucherov). Then, at 17:40 into overtime, Guentzel scores to force a Game 7, with the lone assist to Pastrnak. Altshuller made 38 saves and had an assist. Series tied 3-3
5/20 - 3-2 W vs. TB and the Nordiques are heading to the Final!!!! The Lightning strike fast in the first, just 2 minutes in, but then Namestnikov (from Kruger and Liljegren) and Marner (from Namestnikov and Ekblad) score 19 seconds apart later in the first to give Quebec a 2-1 lead. Eichel scores the GWG late in the third - at 17:09 - with assists to Pastrnak and Drouin. This is the GWG because with 1:11 left, the Drouin/Panarin trade comes back to haunt. Shea Theodore, who got flipped to Tampa in that trade, scores on the power play with the primary assist to Artemi Panarin with just 1:11 left in Game 7 (the other assist: Brayden Point; Panarin's assist was his second of the game). No less, the Nordiques hold on for the win! Altshuller made 17 saves. QC wins series 4-3

Stanley Cup Final: QC vs. NSH
5/21 - Coach Stevens announces that Altshuller will be the starter in the Stanley Cup Final. Altshuller has a .948 sv% and 1.40 GAA as well as 4 shutouts with 11 wins in 13 playoff GP.
5/22 - Round 4, Game 1: 5-2 W vs. NSH. The Predators score the first two goals, late in the first and midway through the second, but then the Nordiques score four goals in the second after Nashville's second goal (4 goals in 8:12); Quebec added a goal in the third. Goals: Aho, Drouin, Eichel, Pastrnak, Suzuki; Assists: Eichel, Pastrnak, Carrick, Ekblad, Guentzel, Liljegren, Marner, McAvoy. Altshuller had 27 saves. QC leads series 1-0
5/24 - 3-2 2OTW vs. NSH. Miller opens the scoring midway through the second (from Marchessault and Aho); then 53 seconds into the third Nashville ties it. 1:07 later, Aho gives Quebec the lead back (From Ekblad and Hanifin); with 5:50 to go Nashville ties it. The first overtime goes scoreless, and then at 3:49 of 2OT, Ekblad scores from Marner and Eichel to win Game 2. Altshuller 31 saves. QC leads series 2-0
5/25 - Carrick was injured the previous night. Keaton Thompson is called up and will fill LD3.
5/26 - 4-1 L @ NSH. Lone goal is Gauthier from Marner and Eichel, then Marner is injured and will be out for the rest of the playoffs. 33 saves for Altshuller. QC leads series 2-1
5/27 - To take Marner's place, Pastrnak will move to RW1. Marchessault RW2. Aho to LW3. Namestnikov RW3. Matthew Peca called up and will go to LW4. Also, Carrick can play in the next game and he will replace Thompson at LD3, and Thompson is sent down.
5/28 - 3-2 L @ NSH. Goals from Drouin and Gauthier; assists Guentzel, Aho, Eichel, Pastrnak. 34 saves for Altshuller. Series tied 2-2.
5/30 - 2-0 W vs. NSH. Aho and Eichel the goals; assists Drouin, Guentzel, Pastrnak. 29 save shutout for Altshuller. QC leads series 3-2, one win from the Cup!!!
6/1 - 3-0 W vs. NSH!!!! Nordiques win the Cup!!!! The Quebec Nordiques are the 2020 Stanley Cup Champions!!!!! The Stanley Cup winner was scored at 12:31 of the second period, shorthanded by Julien Gauthier assisted by Matthew Peca. Then Nick Suzuki scored at 8:46 of the 3rd from Marcus Kruger and Matthew Peca. Finally, at 14:00 of the third, Jack Eichel scored from Julien Gauthier and David Pastrnak. That is two assists for Peca and a goal and assist for Gauthier. Altshuller made 28 saves in his second straight shutout!! QC wins series 4-2. Daniel Altshuller stormed onto the scene as the backup to steal the starting job after an injury to Demko and is rewarded with the Conn Smythe Trophy! Altshuller won 15 of his 19 games and had a .946 sv%, a 1.53 GAA and 6 shutouts.

Yeah it's in the game settings at the beginning, right after you chose a team. I always turn it off, along with owner mode and assistant coach line changes

2017-2018

The Canucks finish 37-40-5, 79 points and 24th overall. The struggling franchise was in a playoff position at the trade deadline (32-24-5), choosing not to trade goaltender Ryan Miller to San Jose for a 2nd round draft pick in 2019.
