Again, Gushchin is NHL ready. FAR more so than Bordeleau. Just don't get it.

Oh, I'm definitely in agreement. Love Gushchin. But I was at least encouraged that Bordeleau's defensive workrate has improved from last year. I'm expecting him to be down here pretty soon.

General rule of thumb; if a player can't obliterate the AHL offensively, he's likely not going to produce at a top-6 level in the NHL. So then, you have to ask if the other parts of his game are good enough for him to be an NHLer...

Cardwell continues to be fast. I love the speed on that guy.

One positive worth taking from this game, at least, is that we went 6 for 6 on the PK. Refs were calling a lot on both sides, and that could've easily sunk us. Real testament to how bad it was that going perfect on the day only raised our season percentage to 64.7%.

Power play was back to being toothless today, though. Seemed like it had trouble even getting into the zone. Looked like McCarthy was going with the second unit more often in order to counter HSK's shorthanded efforts? PP1's point man is Thrun, PP2 has both Muk and Gawanke.

Speaking of Gawanke, I can sort of see why he's never broken through to the NHL. His offense is a nice addition, but his defensive positioning is an a bit all over the place. He likes to jump up a little bit too far at times, too.

Last game the were sleep walking briefly in the 2nd and had to come back down a bunch to tie the game up before losing 5-4. Today they blew a lead and lost in OT. I'm thinking coaching is a big issue here.

Hopefully they quickly address this issue

I agree but it’s hard to score from the defensive zone which is where the puck is the entire game.

Lindblom has been unremarkable enough that I’m waffling between healthy scratch and Barabanov replacement callup.

Just a few days ago I was telling the guys in the other thread how Simek can still move the puck very well with his legs and his stick and that he should be up inatead of Benning, and yes, some posters scoffed at it lol
