When this team is clicking, they are a lot of fun to watch. Only five skaters didn't get a point tonight- Gushchin, Coe, Mukhamadullin, Sredl, Sabourin. Not from lack of trying, though- Gushchin had 7 SOG. He's going to start putting them in the net soon enough.

Romanov looked pretty good, but as I mentioned, he's going to need to work on his puck handling. First goal he gave up was a little questionable in that regard:

What else needs to be worked on? Special. Teams. The power play has not looked threatening in either game (we scored our one PPG on a 5 on 3 in garbage time yesterday), and our PK is sitting at 50% on the season.

Hard to complain about much today, though. That was fun.

Oh, one more thing, since I just saw it, the article on the AHL website now says Wiesblatt was suspended as the result of an "interference incident" yesterday, so now they're not mentioning anything about head contact.

I felt that the PP was moving well but no finish. Shots are coming and most miss the net. They’ll get their aim back.

Well I think that's what my issue is, the puck is moving around, but it's not setting up any really good chances. I loved our 5 on 5 play today, but the PP needs a bit of a tweak, IMO.

It's also worth seeing how it works against a different opponent, though, because Rockford was doing a good job of pressuring us inside our own zone when we were trying to set up.

Imagine how much better they're going to be when they add Bordeleau, Thrun and MacDonald. Just need league average goaltending from somebody.

No argument from me. I failed to mention it’s only game 2. It has to get better, right??

I don’t know how soon that when will happen. I’ll be 100% honest I didn’t watch that game yesterday very closely but Thrun and Bordeleau both looked good in their first games. With Couture/Granlund both out now and Granlund sounding at least kind of serious, I’m not sure how soon Bordeleau especially will be down. Judging by the game yesterday though, sounds like Cuda are handling the scoring pretty okay anyway!

Yeah, Bordeleau looked pretty good against Colorado too. Curious how he does against more human competition.

Couple defenseman transactions. Roman Kinal to Wichita of the ECHL, and Matthew Sredl released from his PTO.

Surprised on Kinal. Thought he looked decent in game 1. But seems like we are making room for others (Guryev, Laroque?).

Looks like Ethan Frisch is the guy that's coming out of the lineup (along with Sredl, who was released from his tryout) and that's straight up the wrong decision, IMO.

Forward lines unchanged.

I don’t know anything about Sredl but I think it’s more important to give the ice time to those who look to be part of our future.

My mistake. Do you think Frisch is NHL fodder?

At the very least I think Frisch has performed well whenever he's been in the Cuda lineup, going back to last year. I think his lack of size would hurt him in the NHL. Think his speed would help in a pairing with someone coming off a lower body injury.

I know it's a stat nobody likes anymore, but Frisch went +5 last weekend, he currently leads the team.

Much appreciated. I pay attention to plus/minus.
