First period isn’t technically over yet, but what we’ve played so far has been pretty competitive. 1-0 Cuda.

In the aftermath Nyman gets ticked off at Vanroboys and takes a couple swings at his face to put us on the PP to start the third. Still 1-0, but entertaining and getting a little heated.

I think it was the Saros extension that was the nail in the coffin for the Preds. They should have traded him. Instead that contract led to Askarov wanting out, they HAD to trade Askarov after.
Saros signing also signaled the Preds were in fact trying to compete for a Cup and they went all in during free agency and well we all see how well that is going so far….
True, but while he hasn't been a vezina candidate, he's been far better than some of the other players brought in this offseason.

Oh I don’t question Saros’ talent, he is a top 5 NHL goalie to me. Even with him the Preds were a middling team last year that just went on a super hot streak. I just don’t think Forsberg+Josi+Saros is enough to be real cup contenders which is why I feel the Preds should have traded him for a big haul, especially since they had Askarov

To be fair, they brought in a lot of Postseason experience and so far none of them have performed.Skjei, Stammer, Marchy... hell even Wedgewood came from franchises that have experienced a ton of postseason success.

Postseason experience doesn't matter as much as age does. If that's what Trotz was looking for when he signed them, he deserves this awful record.

Two fights so far, Vanroboys and Sabourin each have one. Sabourin’s strangely ended when the guy just sort of jumped onto him. BS move.

Refs have been pretty horrid today. The Bailey unsportsmanlike call was bs when they missed a high stick against Cags.
Still 1-1 after two.
Barracuda have 30 SOG, we’ve had some chances. Also have been finding it interesting McCarthy has been favoring the second unit on the PP.

These refs have been extra bad tonight.
2-1 is your final, nailbiter but again, both goalies had great games today. 2 regulation wins this weekend, I’ll take it.
