1-0 is your final. Shutout for Askarov. Big game from both goalies, really.
Fun game.
I think it was the Saros extension that was the nail in the coffin for the Preds. They should have traded him. Instead that contract led to Askarov wanting out, they HAD to trade Askarov after.Askarov trade is gonna end up being the worst move Nashville made this offseason
True, but while he hasn't been a vezina candidate, he's been far better than some of the other players brought in this offseason.I think it was the Saros extension that was the nail in the coffin for the Preds. Saros signing also signaled the Preds were in fact trying to compete for a Cup and they went all in during free agency and well we all see how well that is going so far….
Oh I don’t question Saros’ talent, he is a top 5 NHL goalie to me. Even with him the Preds were a middling team last year that just went on a super hot streak. I just don’t think Forsberg+Josi+Saros is enough to be real cup contenders which is why I feel the Preds should have traded him for a big haul, especially since they had AskarovTrue, but while he hasn't been a vezina candidate, he's been far better than some of the other players brought in this offseason.
To be fair, they brought in a lot of Postseason experience and so far none of them have performed.Skjei, Stammer, Marchy... hell even Wedgewood came from franchises that have experienced a ton of postseason success.Oh I don’t question Saros’ talent, he is a top 5 NHL goalie to me. Postseason experience doesn't matter as much as age does. If that's what Trotz was looking for when he signed them, he deserves this awful record. To be fair, they brought in a lot of Postseason experience and so far none of them have performed.Skjei, Stammer, Marchy... hell even Wedgewood came from franchises that have experienced a ton of postseason success.
Let's get some of that AHL animosity going.
These refs have been extra bad tonight. Are these refs kidding right now?
