I’m fairly confident that Askarov won’t be in the Cuda for much longer. The plus is that other than Graf and Mukh, I don't expect any of those guys to get significant NHL time this season. I don't see any reason to interrupt Cagnoni'a first pro season by jerking him around and would rather he just focus on the Cuda this season and worry about making the Sharks next season. If he's still playing this well all season then I'm sure he'll earn a brief call up at some point, but that should be it. I don't really feel like Bordeleau or Gushchin will see significant Sharks time either. So if you have Poturalski, Schuldt, Carlsson, Cagnoni, Gushchin, Bystedt, Bordeleau, Cardwell, and Furlong, I think they're okay from a skater perspective. Graf would be a significant loss, but not back-breaking.
I think the biggest threat to the Cuda is the Sharks taking Askarov. I wonder if he'd be willing to go back for a Cuda after the Sharks' season is done, hopefully for a deep Calder Cup run.
