Stockton's been a rival since the Barracuda's opening season here.

The division thing will also be interesting, as the Pacific Division had nine teams last season and we have Coachella Valley entering the league, so seems likely we're going to have a couple teams moved out of the Pacific.

I get why they want them closer but Stockton is a cool minor league hockey spot. The arena isn't horrid and they seem to have ok support

Big changes. According to the article, the assistants are no longer on the coaching staff either. Bonneau back to being a scout, Chiasson moving on to CAA hockey, Sabourin has moved back to Quebec.

Sommer becoming a senior advisor with the team.

So the Sommer era somewhat officially ends… I’m excited for this change.

Having Coe, Gushchin, Wiesblatt, and Robins will certainly help the offense.

On a side note, the press release lists players that he mentored in his coaching career. Dan Boyle is there. He played for the Kentucky Thoroughbreds in 98-99 for Sommer, but he was in the Panthers organization. Seems like FLA also used Kentucky in 98-99 from what I researched, despite the fact Florida had an AHL team in New Haven that season.

In a fairly recent podcast interview Boyle spoke about Sommer and his time in Kentucky (I can’t remember which podcast). He credited Sommer as giving him a fair opportunity to play even though he wasn’t a Sharks prospect.

Stockton officially moving to Calgary.

We'll see what divisions look like next year, but definitely wonder if we won't be seeing much of the Flames prospects anymore.

RIP. Very unexpected. Lots of memories listening to Eric call games in Worcester and first year to Cuda.

We're absolutely gutted here in Worcester with the loss of Eric. While he isn't calling our hockey games anymore, he still worked for the owner for various projects and we all interacted with him often. He was definitely part of Worcester's hockey family.
