Every stoppage Sawchenko wanders out of his crease over to the side boards, makes a wide turn, and drifts back to the net.

Every. Single. Time.

It's becoming kind of fun just to watch it happen without fail.

There's a Canuck with a very Eastern European sounding name (like lithuanian maybe?) That sounds like his name is Luke O'Savages.

That'd be a great pub name.

Ryan or Nick?

Yes.

(It was Ryan. his first goal this season. For the people who aren't paying attention or are unfamiliar with the jersey #s it doesn't help that the the Cuda don't do initials on the backs of the jerseys. Both players just have "Merkley" and the only way you know the difference is that one is #6 and a d-man and the other is #10 and a forward)

Double digits. Incredible.

10-1 Stockton, final.

Some of the goals, I don't know what the players were doing out there. The only good news in this game is Onyebuchi scored his first goal.

Few notable lowlights:

^ I believe Megna is complaining a high stick didn't get called on this one, but you can't just stop playing there...

(Hoping someone uploads goal 10, because that was just facepalm-worthy)

It’s bizarre, I sorta thought our AHL team would be okay this year? How are they getting… worse…

Some of the guys are on the shelf (injured) or called up.

I do think there has been a "disturbance in the force" with Kane hanging around, but not yet able to contribute. I had hoped he'd be in the lineup tonight.

Next Cuda games are Sat/Sun at home vs Canucks.

There's kind of a lot wrong with this roster at the moment. We have no centers. Our defensive group is pretty bad in their own end. Our penalty kill is the worst in the league (66.7%!). We start slow. We just give up too many goals.

People thought our forward group was going to be deep. But we'd also assumed that we'd have Chekhovich and Gambrell in that group. Kellman and Ibragimov are currently hurt. Along with that, currently zero production from guys like Viel, Leonard, Raska.

But hey, maybe Evander Kane can give this offense a shot in the arm. What a weird year this is.

It's not going to happen but that's the kind of loss that gets a coach fired.
One can dream. Aside from Meier (who was a top-10 pick) and Labanc, I can't recall a single player Sommer has developed that become anything more than a depth/backup role in the last 10 drafts. Maybe drafting also plays a big part in that, but we changed our drafting ways in 2017, so now it's time for a minor league system change.

I don't think Wilson's expectation of Sommer is to develop star players from the farm. If it happens great but I believe the expectation is to develop players that can play Sharks hockey when called up, whatever style it is at the time. I think that is Sommer's appeal to Wilson. His adaptability and not set in one style.
