I honestly think he is masking some of Ekblad's deficiencies. Ekblad still has some really good qualities, but IMO the leg injuries have pretty much ruined his skating and playmaking ability. He's still tough and he's still smart, so they pair up well together.

I try to be even keel on Ekblad because I like the guy, but he honestly looks like a shell of himself to me most of the time.

IMO he never skated well. And he hasn’t been a threat at the point since his rookie year. Kinda crazy how far he fell in that part of his game.

Just please no acl or other knee ligament problems. That’s the worst case. Hopefully it was just a knee or ankle sprain and he’ll be back in a couple weeks. If he doesn’t miss at least a few weeks, I’d be surprised

at least he can join his mate and go together eat early christmas chicken wings to Tampere both with crutches

challenging to decide which one case was more unnecessary and meaningless

Barkov :eek3::cry::cry:
Fingers crossed it's nothing major :( We can survive a few weeks without him, or even a couple momths as long as he eventually comes back fully healed.
We'll, we said Vilmanis and others would get their chance - just didn’t think it would be so soon and like this.

Hindsight is 20/20 but Barkov is the captain and if he dogged that puck it’s a bad look.
I am not a lätkäjätkä (hockey dude), which means that I don't know the code but for me this looked way worse than not trying to save an impossible situation without a stick. He had so many injuries in past that maybe he should hedge bets a little bit.

1st period was awful, tough to win against a motivated hard skating team with 1 1/2 good periods. OTT did a good job hanging in. This game only matters if Barky actually has a more severe injury. Really unfortunate play, could have easily been Stützle to be injured instead of Barky.

Moving on

I reeeaally hope Barkov is not badly hurt... not only for his and Florida's sake, but for selfish reasons.

I have tickets for the Florida-Dallas game in Tampere, and I've been waiting for a best on best international tournament for YEARS. Barkov being out from his home city game would suck a lot, and him missing from the 4 nations cup would crush Team Finland.

I was already sad after Laine got hurt, now I want to punch a hole in the wall
