Yea its getting harder to watch games not easier. A lot of good games this year have been on things called Fubo and Sling and I dont even know what they are. Espn+ on hulu has a lot of them so thats the main one for me.

The constant sports betting ads and content being pushed down everyones throats is going to have disastrous results (it already has for many people). The leagues and teams have to know this, but they just don't care. It's like the bus ad I saw in LA last year that basically said "Having trouble paying your bills, try the lotto". It's disgraceful.

I have not bet anything more than a 2 team parlay in probably a decade.

And hey I agree with you on not wanting it to be stopped by a govt entity, I think many here know my ideological views are small government, anti-regulation, and government entities should be hands off of most things, this included.

I am coming at this from the angle that I think it's terrible for the leagues and teams to be pushing this on their customers, when they know the damage it is causing to many people, especially younger people. It's going to turn young people away from sports, and as the stories about people of all ages losing their homes etc. come out, there will be regulation (whether I agree or not) and the unlimited supply of money from places like FD will dry up, but the long-term consequences will remain.

Sports betting can be beat, but to do it you have to put in close to a full times job worth of time, you have to network with smart people, you have to shop lines, you have to find bonuses and rebates, you have to utilize software (especially for arbitrage), you have to have the discipline to not bet for the sake of betting (this gets me sometimes still), you have to deal with insane levels of variance, and you have to have the balls to not be afraid to absolutely hammer lines where the sportsbook is just waaaaaay off, (Illinois/Michigan and Pittsburgh/NY Jets games games this weekend, where bad teams were road favorites vs decent teams). Most people have trouble doing any single one of these things, much less being able to do all of them. And again, I think the leagues are well aware of these things, but they just don't care. I think sports gambling ads are more destructive to a most fans than alcohol, tobacco or weed ads.

Agree, gambling can be absolutely lethal, it's one of the reasons why as much as I loved living in Vegas, I won't go back. I know myself enough to know that I can get sucked in easily, so stay away etc. I do it for fun now, you think teasers are a trap?

Up here they have something called Single Game Parlays, for example, Buffalo game on Sunday, Bufffalo -9.5 plus Allen to throw for 200 plus yards, plus, Cook to score a TD gives you 5.25 odds, you can stack as many as you want to get the odds going, $5 to win $800,000 if your one in 20 trillion hits lol

Bookie friend of mine once me told he was open 12 hrs a day for straight bets, 24 hrs a day for parlays.

Isn't online (or otherwise) sports gambling still outlawed in CA? Either way I won't go there, even with a sport I partially have knowledge of with hockey.
