What could (and should) hurt Lewa is that he never could do it outside the Bundesliga (a well documented offensive league) and on powerhouses.
Anytime he faces a decent team with Poland, he vanishes.
His "performance" in this Euro was concerning.
I think Messi is still the go to guy here.

He has scored 77 goals in 98 CL matches & has 72 goals in 125 caps for Poland. Blaming him for Poland putting a crap team around him would be very odd.

Not just for Poland but for his less then stellar performances when he's not on a hugely dominating team.

If you saw the games you'd know.
Heck Poland fans know.

I saw. The whole team was bad against Slovakia, but after Krychowiak's red card it was always going to be an uphill battle. Against Spain and Sweden Lewandowski was by far the best player.

Lewandowski with Poland has 72 goals in 125 caps.

Since 2014, he has 54 goals in 65 caps.

He has-
-19 goals in 51 friendly appearances
-46 goals in 53 qualifying matches
-5 goals in 14 tournament finals matches
-2 goals in 7 nations league matches

Ranking may be subjective, but he has only scored vs 4 of the traditionally top 15-20 ranked FIFA teams. 3 vs Denmark, 2 vs Germany, 1 vs both Portugal and Spain.

Poland doesn't have a bad team though, we have a certain number of good players. It has been the managers who aren't fitting the system and Lew not rising up to his talent level like he is at Bayern.

Looks like Iceland and Ukraine/Bosnia are going to be the two teams making the play-offs based on their nation's league-rankings.

Kind of thought everyone was half joking about Jorginho winning. But looking at the nominee list they base way to much on you happening to be playing for a good team in the Euros or Champions League (and not very much on other confederations championships like Copa America)

I don't think it would be a crime if Lewa got it, but Messi should win.

...at least from that list; I assume that Kruse isn't eligible so as to give everyone else a chance.
I would be happy to see Lewa get it. He had an amazing year for club and it would almost be a lifetime achievement award for being one of the best players that isn't Messi or Ronaldo

Kjær is just a gesture. A bit silly, but I don't mind that much since you got 30 players nominated. Would have been far worse if he was one among five or something.

Only thing we do know is that a future Newcastle player will win it.

I still think VVD got robed 3 years ago because all LFC players spreaded the votes among themselves.
