And this 45 year old has a thicker head of hair than lots of 25 year olds in the league

Jagr has nothing on Brian Burke.

I actually check each day to see if this thread is still running...

I, post 40, have hair, but many of my brethren don't, and is a actually a major issue for many.

I don't feel bad for guys making 7 mil a year as much, but it becomes a huge issue for most guys...

I don't think any guy really cares once they've settled down/happy with their situation but for most guys hairloss significantly effects how they view themselves because lets face it, for most people it's not their best look and there is literally nothing they can do about it once it gets to a certain point.

Can't blame them for thinking it's a huge issue.

Imagine if you just took the social acceptance of make up away from women. For some it may not be a huge issue because they look great without it, but for many they would also consider it a huge issue.

It's amazing that it's 2018 and there's no cure for baldness. It's probably an industry worth 100s of billions of dollars for the person who invents the cure.

Stem cells are pretty close apparently.

Can't see it being any cheaper than a hair transplant though which is pretty effective already.

Add Brian Boyle to the mix. He's starting to thin at the sides just a little bit but that's honestly to be expected at the age of 33. It's doubtful he loses all his hair, just a decent amount of density by the time he's middle aged enough to where he won't need a comb over but you'll be able to see some scalp. It's likely the same will happen with Stamkos

Might be his cancer treatment.

Nylander's baldness seems to be progressing, I feel bad for him.

I always feel terrible for the ones that are noticeably balding in their 20s. If you can make it to your 30s with some of your hair at least you had some time. And also it's a bit more understandable for a guy to go bald in his 30s (which is brutal because it's not like these guys have any control over it).

His dad went bald early, it's no surprise.

This is true.

People who say "what's the big deal about losing hair?" have never had to go through the trauma of losing hair.
I used to have a thick head of hair through most of my 20s, used to gel it up like the Gotti grandchildren then once I hit 30, it started thinning quickly and most was gone within a couple of years. It was a nightmare to deal with.

I tried all kinds of things, even this stuff called "organin" which is a hair thickening fiber that I spread all over my scalp for a couple of years to give the appearance of hair (took at least an hour every other day to do this) and after the advice of many people around me to just buzz cut it, I finally did and feel a million times better.

Fortunately, I'm in good shape and have a decent enough face to pull it off but man, it was really tough to deal with for a while. Not ready to go full bald but I have it at a "#1" all around so close enough (like Jason Statham), buzz it every few days and have a stubble beard so it's my look now and I'm cool with it. I don't feel as attractive as I used to but it's not a big deal to me anymore.
Advice to those who are trying to hang on to every last hair, just own it, shave it and you'll have a lot more confidence unless it's really not a good look for you.

I feel bad for the folks who start balding before they can grow proper facial hair. That's just a slap in the face by mother nature

As a balding dude with a patchy beard, it's rough. I basically started wearing glasses I barely need just to add some diversity to my face/head.

Meh, balding is no big deal. Shave it. I regret not shaving it earlier, thinking I could hide it which was stupid. When I finally did it I was like "Why the hell didn't I do this years ago?" Everyone else probably thought the same.

You'll look better, probably feel better and this may surprise you but...friends, family and strangers won't care.
