I wonder if we waive Murray, send down Niemelainen or send down Holloway and go 11-7? Personally, I am not a fan of 11-7 if we can have a decent 4th line.
I think Murray's the perfect #7 D-man. One of the first things Woodcroft did (other than 7-11) was to reduce minutes of the kids and elevate veteran d minutes. Murray's a good security blanket to have in this mature phase of chasing deep playoff runs. He can sit in the press box without worry of his game atrophying.

Think this team might move Nemo and Broberg up and down to gain NHL experience and maintain big minute AHL play to continue honing confidence and experience. I don't mind 7-11 especially as this is more of a platoon type defense which can spread minutes around (I'd cut Nurse's minutes to 22-ish but that might require the eventual trade to upgrade second pair D).

For me, I'd play Holloway the next couple of NHL games to gage how he does coming back from injury. Favorable schedule and feel he's earned his spot on the big team. However if he can't get decent minutes after that then farm time for big, important minutes. Thought he was solid in Calgary with small ice time.

Nice to finally be building out legitimate NHL depth and prospect pipeline to have options with young, developing players.

Yamamoto has physical limitations and has to be working his tail off to be anything but meh. If he is unable to work like a honey badger due to injury, then he is a very ineffective player. Lots of bumps with Yamamoto, so why can't Holloway be given even 1/2 the leash that Yamamoto has been given?
I would suspect that once Holloway gets a little more look at this level (maybe like 20-30?), other than the 4-5 games it's been so far, then they will have a lot better read as to how he will do in an expanded role. I am in the camp of bringing people along slowly, and letting them find success at the lower rungs, and working their way up.

22 year old 6'4" good skating RHD averaging near goal per game at the AHL level. What I am I missing here?

Call him and Bourgault up, their talent is being wasted down there.
Bourgault has played 1/2 dozen pro games and you want him called up? When we have NO injuries on the big club? Let's not get silly here.:D

Can he really put up less offense than the Pulju - Foegele - Yams triangle of nothing?
I dont know if its cap compliant but I would not be adverse to seeing Yams on the bench and Borg getting a shot in the top 6 sooner than later.

Or even Lavioe, Tullio, or Kostin...

Seriously, Yams is playing bad enough long enough to be benched and our RW options on the team are limited. Most likely a demotion is in order but JP and Foegele certainly dont deserve a promotion with their play either.

I think it’ll eventually happen, if not by Thanksgiving. They will want to know if any of those guys can tread water like one of the ‘goose egg trio’ before making a trade as they will likely be playing one of them if so

Yamamoto and Puljujarvi are producing like extra forwards. Considering their extremely inconsistent histories, it may continue to be the case for some time. Bourgault has better hands and forechecks as well as either of them
I'm not saying it couldn't happen but can we give Bourgault a few more games at the lower pro level to continue to refine his game? We're doing okay on the big club overall and there are no injuries (even Benson, the most likely of the forwards to get a chance, is waiting in the wings now), and I am so sick of this organization in the past rushing guys up to the big club because they had a nice little streak of a few good games in the AHL, and then they get punted around in the bigs.

We have almost 9 mill wrapped up in 3 players underperforming. While obviously not in dire straights this is exactly the opportunity to bring in a cap controlled asset to see what we have in them.

Aka, the ol cup of coffee. Whoever that may be, now or soon there after, is the time to see if someone can improve our team.

Benson has had a ton of camps and a decent amount of games to prove himself. Had his best camp yet so Im fine with getting him in as well except its a RW player we need more than anything else right now.

I don't understand why Yams was given the 2 year deal instead of the 1 year "show me" contract.

Holland is famous for giving out the multi year deals to guys, ostentatiously for the reason to spread the cap hit to fit guys in to our precarious cap situation.

Well considering many prospects his age with potential don't even get going until second half of their first pro year, I'd say it's significant development his hit the ground running. The kid is potting short handed goals at 19 what do you think he's going to be doing on line with Drai and Kane.

Plus his got way better selection of shots. He's much more skilled than either of the two and he can hold his own on the defensive side.

And yet our cap was so mismanaged that we had a 19 player roster at one point this year. Ken Holland would help us more as the GM of the Blackhawks or something.

Fake news... As if this trio of suck (Foeg/pul/yama) wouldn't be totally tearing up the AHL if playing there.

Bourgault wouldn't be an upgrade over Shore/Ryan/Holloway and would get ruined if rushed.
