Nice goals. Like the announcer said, too bad they can’t bottle that every night. Lavoie could be such a good player with that deadly shot

Quickly send this to Ken Holland so he can see that we don't need Edmundson :naughty::laugh:

Kesselring right?

He should be the next call up, might push out one of the incumbent RD.

From what I know, Lavoie has work ethic issues and consistency problems. Its a shame considering he has the talent to be an NHL player.

And yes, that is indeed Kesselring.

Also, Condors won 2-1. (But still fire Colin Chaulk into the sun)

Seeing Bourgault on the 3rd line is WTF. Gtfo Chaulk

I'm not too perterbed about that as he learns the pro game. Is he on the PP though? That is where he really should be getting lots of time. Same with the other one shot scorers, Savoie and Lavoie.

Here’s his follow up tweet. The way those lines are listed(if accurate) reads like they’re just balancing them and running the lines evenly at even strength. You’ve got veteran guys with the skilled prospects on every line. I know some people wanna see prospects force fed minutes in the AHL but putting guys over their heads is a way to stunt their development in a bad way.

How in the hell isn't Kesselring on the PP? Demers? gtfo Chaulk.

Another Kesselring goal.

The impressive thing about Kesselring is how quickly he transitions from defense to offence. Great positioning to defend. Sees the turnover and jumps without hesitation into the rush with his excellent skating ability. Very good finishing skills.

This is very good hockey sense at work.

Also a super smart play by Philp with the little bank shot clear pass.

Know any teams that could use a big right handed volume shooter with this release?

This player needs to refine elements of his two way game and keep the internal pilot light fully engaged. But this is a major league shooter:

What was his injury this summer again?

It's annoying that he once again has had a massive slump to start the year, and he still has that same streakiness (3 points in 4 games to start the year, 9 games without a pulse, and then 5 points in his last 3) that's plagued him since turning pro; but he did miss all of camp, so at least there's a reason for the slow start.

Still I wouldn't be against calling him up and giving him a quick look in Pulju's current spot for a few games: See if he can show a spark. I do like Pulju, but they're getting nothing out of him at the moment, and I would like to get someone to challenge him and Yams for their roles. It's not like those two are setting a high bar to beat.

RNH-McDavid-Hyman
Foegele-Drai-Yams
Janmark-McLeod-Kostin
Holloway-Ryan-Lavoie

Double shift McDrai between the kids and/or swap Kostin with Ryan when you want a proper defensive line. Also having Ryan actually mentoring the kids makes a ton of sense.

I think it was a knee injury. The streakiness is a primary habit this player with coaching support need to eliminate in his game. Specifically he can control the process aka work rate and effort to score goals but also engage and use his size in all areas of the ice. This is the code player and team need to crack. If they do, there's an NHL player there and a big club with a huge need for his skill set.

I don't see Lavoire being called up before earning a promotion. He needs to first earn AHL minutes and coach's trust with consistency play at that level. The carrot is a weak RW personnel in Edmonton. But this growth and development must largely come from within.

It's my opinion that players shouldn't get callups based on an extremely short sample size, like 3 games. There needs to be a level of consistency before that happens. They need to EARN the right to be called up. Otherwise, I think it sends the wrong message, and then you get guys hurting the big team when the slump occurs.
