Rozi was really bad at the end. Murphy today is a far superior player. TvR wasn't just a rookie he was a hurt rookie Rundblad sucked.
You don’t get it. Everyone sucks until they are gone. They then somehow seem to get better.
Look at the trash spewed on Jones and Murphy here.
Look around the NHL guys who were endlessly dumped on by HF Hawk fans play important roles.
The single biggest misunderstanding here is the inability to evaluate talent taking team surroundings into consideration.
Playing with a rookie partner and forwards who are often of AHL level (or Bedard who was terrible in his zone and on draws … possession).
Take all of that and put it vs the opponents top lines and blame them for the result.
Rozi was atrocious round one turned into Pronger in round two and got hurt after being really bad all year. I've argued it enough with BWC I promise I remember. You're misremembering. Rozi was winning his minutes in the playoffs until he got hurt and he was averaging 17 and a half a game. There's no chance you take Murphy of today (or at any point in the last 6 years) over a healthly Rozsival in 2015. Murphy is bad at everything that matters in hockey. Not that it matters because with the way Murphy handled the puck, he never would have seen the ice with Q.
Thought Murphy looked really good at the end of the year after returning from injury. Kind of surprised at some of the shit I’m reading here but I shouldn’t be after 10 years or whatever it’s been.
Yeah that’s fair. Expectations were very low at that point. You had gotten used to watching Tinordi, Megna and Zaitsev on a regular basis. Yeah, Murph was a real breath of fresh air compared to them, no doubt.
He's always been very underwhelming to me. Bowman traded Hjalmarsson for him with the expectations we were getting a younger and reasonably equivalent caliber shutdown defenseman back in return. So whether that's fair or not is up to you I guess but I wouldn't have confidence in him in the playoffs to be a capable top 4 shutdown defenseman.Thought Murphy looked really good at the end of the year after returning from injury. Yup, thats why some people think Seth Jones is so good too, used to watching garbage back there. You had gotten used to watching Tinordi, Megna and Zaitsev on a regular basis. Yeah, Murph was a real breath of fresh air compared to them, no doubt.
The window is quickly closing to use our cap space to take overpaid anchor's. Possibly only one or two more years . In the past Davidson has made some very astute moves to stock pile picks . Who fits in ? Seems like some desperate teams are out there . I think Holl on Wings and Tavares on Leaf's would be decent add's without interfering with the rebuild .
Yzerman can waive guys but he has no choice, I cant see him getting assets for anybody other than the guys he wants to keep . Leaf's need to make some moves and it seems like they are backed into a corner , especially If Marner is resigned .- Wings dont appear willing to part with anything to move on from Holl and Hawks aren't taking that on unless they get a legit reason not moving up 3 spots in draft
- Tavares has full NMC and is not leaving Toronto
The reality is cap has increased and teams are not desperate to dump guys as much. Hawks missed out on Monahan and others when we had plenty of cap to utilize
That is on Hawks ownership/management

After the couple cap moves we've seen (Walman, Mikheyev) what are the other potential opportunities that KD might be able to take advantage of? I think it's Campbell because EDM's going to need to clear maximum space for a Draisatl renewal. We're in a hard cap league. Contenders will always want to maximize their dollars whenever they can. Stevie Y probably isn't feeling the heat to move on from Holl right now. That will only last so long when he's a healthy scratch to start the year.
No one is touching Campbell. After the couple cap moves we've seen (Walman, Mikheyev) what are the other potential opportunities that KD might be able to take advantage of? I think it's Campbell because EDM's going to need to clear maximum space for a Draisatl renewal.
The cost would certainly be MUCH more than what we've recently seen. I just feel that the Oilers would be HIGHLY motivated to do so, which means that another GM (hopefully KD) would be able to get a very significant return. No one is touching Campbell.
