Feel good story.

Production can come later, need an ok ratio of good plays to bad give-aways, some fun intermission interview and cool bench interaction with the guys.

If he sticks in the lineup when Landeskog returns I am happy.

He needs to earn his way onto the 1st line first.

You do realize he's 21/33 in the playoffs, counting starting out with 6 zeros his first year. 14 in 17 in his second year.

And a career 281 in 485.. He's worth a lot more than a sub 900k contract. He wants to win.

Who f*** has a resume like that ahead of him on this team?

I think he plays with Mack and Nuke for sure. Still need a 3rd line RW imo

Drouin - Mack - Nuke
Lehkonen - RyJo - Rants
Wood - Colton - X

He's been in the playoffs once since 2016. Its hard to call him motivated based on his recent years in Montreal. He shouldn't be near the 1st line though until he's earned a spot there.

In Tampa he was propped up by Kucherov. Kucherov inflates linemates production. Same with MacKinnon. But what does he bring to the table that others don't when playing next to elite players?

Unless he's broken down completely physically (not sure), he brings elite hands and speed.

He means once after the end of the 2016 season.

Ok sure,

It was 2019-20 lol, not exactly that long ago. When he's been there he's been good.

If someone is going to simply dismiss that for their narrative. Fine, pointless conversation.

He also has way more of a resume as a top 6 forward than anyone other than three wingers on this team.

The idea he has to earn it over anyone is hilarious.

Since isn't inclusive.

How convenient

You've got your mind made up, and rather twist the narrative.

I just watched you bitch about people gaslighting. Lmao enjoy the season dude.

7 years is not insignificant for someone who has declined the way he has since being traded for Sergachev.

What's more relevant to today, 2016 or the past 2 or 3 years?

Yeah, this won’t be a meritocracy.

Drouin will be given that top 6 opportunity.

It’s his to lose. This is likely a 1 year mercenary contract. He’s here to resurrect his career as a top 6 player. And hopefully the Avs are beneficiaries

If you're going to dance around 10 games in 2019-20, and his overall production as a forward as well as ignore that we only have three wingers you can legit make an argument should automatically be ahead of him.

Considering the point you started with is that he has to earn a spot on the top line.

Pound sand dude. I'm good on the conversation. Enjoy the season.

You guys should start learning Quebec swear words right now, you're most likely gonna need them by October. lol

Jokes aside, good luck on the acquisition, he has had a personal tough run.
