Good news everyone: Miska cannot lose that game now.

I was honestly wondering if they would put Miska back in for the third, if Grubauer gave up a couple goals to make it 6-2 or something.

Can you imagine poor Miska having to go back in after that performance? He's obviously in over his head.

Mackinnon is playing the way he played in 2016. The guy who thought he wouldnt get more than the contract offered to him at the time.

He is trying to be a playmaker because his shots are not going in. Rinse repeat.. I wish he'd grab his balls and have a little more confidence in himself at this point, but I think it is part of life. He'll come back around. At least his solution is not a selfish one unlike others.

He is still carrying the puck instead of trying to get it off as soon as possible. That is when you know shit is bad. He stops trying to carry it through traffic or pressure. So there is that.

3-point night for Naz.

I was wondering if Kadri got a stick on that. Looks like he did.

Either way, just a three point night for him. No big deal.

Kadri’s one of those players that can put up a lot of points in one night, but also make some of the dumbest decisions in the same game. Like that drop pass to no one after the Avs had been stuck in their own zone for a bit. Such a talented player, sometimes I wonder if his controller got disconnected

Maybe without the speed, but makes me think of Ian Laperrière a little. Just enough skill that you think he could score more, but never lacks in the areas you expect. The last time we had someone like Calvert was Ian IMO. I'm liking the LOC experiment.

I can see that. LOC reminds me of a faster Matt Calvert. They're basically the same player. A little less hockey IQ but a little better puck skills.

LOC even got feisty with a guy giving him a shot last game, the way Calvert snaps when a guy does that to him.

Getzlaf's reactions on the Rantanen goal were fantastic.

He just knew after so many failed clear attempts that bad things were about to happen.
That whole sequence was terrific. Toews keeping it in the zone, Landy's toe-drag and rush to the net + rebound, and then Mikko throwing it, on his backhand, the only place it could go in, right off Miller's shoulder.

MacK almost needs someone on that team that isn’t looking to defer to him. He has played some of his best hockey when Rants is feeling it and wants to lead the charge, same when Makar hit that hot streak last year. It gets so predictable when everyone is trying to force the puck to MacK, it’s probably frustrating for him as well when they toss it to him because they ran themselves out of space
