Wonder if it's a confidence or a "still not recovered from injury" issue.
Total tinfoil hat mode, but I think if he is injuried it might be a wrist thing. If you watch closely after physical plays he takes his off hand off the stick and pushes his forearm down on his pants. Not sure if its his elbow pad he constantly adjusts or maybe its a brace of some kind.

I can see that. LOC reminds me of a faster Matt Calvert. They're basically the same player. A little less hockey IQ but a little better puck skills.

LOC even got feisty with a guy giving him a shot last game, the way Calvert snaps when a guy does that to him.

Yeah LOC is one of the few guys we have watched that goes 110 every shift. I am sure it will not serve him long term just like Calvert, but you have to be thankful. Ian really was the last player I remember like that before Calvert. You can really tell when these guys are not on the bench. Lets hope LOC learns enough while Calvert is still around.

He looked amazing in the Arizona game so I think hes fine physically. Mentally hes down. He has no confidence in his shot and just about everything else. Hes working hard which is great but he puts alot of pressure to score and hes just not doing it right now with a goalie in net. He should got back to his CCM pattern and ditch this Warrior Eichel curve hes using.

If the bottom-6 was just a bunch of Lappy, Calvert and LOC clones, it wouldn’t matter if they scored directly as they would soften up the other team so much for the top-6

The 7 shots against in the second period went a heck of a lot better than the 7 shots against in the first. The score doesn’t show it (thanks Miska) but the Avs are continuing their defensive dominance. Score could have easily been 6-0 Avs in this one.

Maybe this is like the Tales games where the best weapons are cursed and you need to use them a bunch of times to uncurse them

Very true, still remember Lappy playing through that broken nose towards the end. It was so much fun watching that dude score. He'd swear he didn't belong in the NHL, and everything he had was luck while bleeding in front of you.
