If Grubauer was a workhorse it wouldn't be as egregious. But he isn't ever healthy, why would you risk a season on him staying healthy, and overplay him. Doesn't make any sense. Unless Francouz status wasn't known and they were seeing if he would improve.

Playing Miska is a forfeit. The next time they do it I won't even watch. We've had some breakdowns but he just doesn't belong in the NHL.

Fairly simple math: If Miska blows this game, it is 6 points he has blown thus far this season. Those 6 points would have us sitting atop the division. He'll have as minimum of 6 games the rest of the way. That's 12 more points lost. I don't think any team can simply drop 18 points and expect to be a cup contender. Plus he will have to play an absolute minimum of 4 games on the way to the cup final. A contender simply cannot start a series essentially down 0 - 1.

Problem now is, every team in the league knows the situation the Avs are in. If we have to trade for a goalie we're going to get bent over.


We really need to put in a claim for Forsberg tomorrow. Forsberg isn't necessarily an NHL level backup but he is 10x the goalie Miska is, and quite honestly with how well the Avs have been playing defensively lately we could probably make a guy like Forsberg look decent as a #2.


It maybe doesn't solve the issue of needing a legit backup goalie. But it helps make things easier to deal with both in terms of getting short term help in net, and helping us not be trading from such a crazy position of weakness as well.

...a small tweak..and our season goes down the tubes. Almost scarier watching Grubs in net then Miska tonight.
