Miska is awful. And all the blame is on Sakic. But this is the second worst offensive team in the league, and all 4 goals were high danger chances, with the last 3, the team just letting a Duck player free on his own to pepper Miska. F#$king awful all around.

Last time I’ll post about this, cause I agree Miska can’t continue to be the backup. But the man is in over his head. I feel bad for him.

But there HAS to be a reason Joe is waiting. Remember the Hate before Duchene was FINALLY traded? The calling for Sakic’s resignation? He SHOULD have our trust. 16-8-2 with games in hand on the trailing teams is STILL NOT panic time.

Sakic should be on the phone....looking for a job. I am as much of an eternal optimist as anyone on this forum. But take a look at every move over the past 2 years. Was it brilliance? Was it luck? Let's look:

Girard - terrific grab.
Makar and Byrum - Scouting department, but can anyone really get credit for choosing in the #4 slot?
Kadri - Toronto desperately wanted him out
Donskoi - unwanted
Burakovsky - unwanted
Saad - good grab
Toews - Cap forced him off the Island.

There really is not much GM brilliance there. He managed to not completely screw up opportunities. But this goalie situation is simply unacceptable. We are midway through the season and Frankie has not played a game. Sakic has missed chances on the waive wire. If his excuse is waiting for the trade deadline, he better have an inside line on Gibson or another #1+++ starter.

If we are being honest with ourselves, Sakic's success is way more luck that skill. Keep in mind he also caved to Mikko and overpaid him and the Graves contract should be enough to smack him in and of itself. He knew there was Covd. he knew there was a flat cap . Yet he still signed 6D to a 3 year contract at least 50% too high.

Then there is Miska. At this point in Avalanche history, a poor game by a goalie is going to be known as 'pulling a Miska'. Sakic himself would be a superior backup goalie.

So what? He wants to be. And he's put himself in the best position he can to become one. And yet when he's given the opportunity to become one he squanders it. Some of these goals should absolutely be routine saves even from a competent AHL goaltender, which he is.

The blame still goes on people putting him in net. They gave Miska all the opportunities to show he can play and he has failed. Time to make a change. Getting a back up goalie shouldn't be very hard

I stopped watching for about 20 games in 16/17, then I finally decided to watch a game. Kings scored not a min into the game. I changed the channel.
