They are both performing great. But that's what goalies do under our system.

They are not Vasy, Saros, Shesty level is what im getting at. But they are good goalies that get it done under our system.
Fair enough. Although I would disagree about Saros. Vasilevskiy and Shesterkin have accomplished something, in Vasy's case he has accomplished a lot, but not sure Saros has, and so far he's having a mediocre season

I'm not saying Saros is like Vasy and Shesty, but he's pretty damn good. The next Rinne for the Preds.

I’ve been impressed with Georgiev so far. He is playing really well. He just looks confident out there. Time will tell though..,

lol wtf Frankie literally just stole a game two nights ago
He did, but he's not doing that on a constant basis. Frankie is one of the better back up goalies in the league. But that's what he is, a back up goalie.

Entertainment-wise that game compared to the one in Carolina was like leaving the museum with Dougie Hamilton and meeting up with a drunken Tyler Arnason outside the strip club and he hands you a giant brick of $1s.

Good game from a lot of players, and Nate continues to just wow us.

The Cogliano-Compher-O'Connor line really is morphing into the Nieto-Soderberg-Comeau line, and it really showed tonight. After a rough start to the season they've really simplified things, they dump, chase, and cycle. Sometimes they get a goal or two, but really, they're out there to buy time. It'll be really nice once Nuke and Landy come back and a little less is asked of them, they might actually make a bigger impact.

Also thought JTC put in yeoman's work on the PK tonight.

I don't know what to even complain about after this game, and that makes me mad.

Chet, is this your burner? Nammerus?

It looked like Kuemper tried to have a “you made a mistake letting me go” showing against us. Kinda like Georgiev did against New York.

However in the end it couldn’t happen cuz the Avs are just THAT good and Kuemper is not. Meanwhile Georgiev casually puts up a SO. Loving this goaltending decision more and more each day.

To be fair I thought Kuemper was fine, he didn't really let in any bad ones, the only one that came close was the Cogliano/MacDonald goal, but I still can't tell if that deflected off a Caps player or if Kuemper mishandled a rebound.

BTW, did any of y'all notice Kuemper reaching outside the crease to set picks? I don't remember him ever doing that in an Avs uniform, but I saw him clearly obstructing Avs forecheckers a couple times.

Happy Goergie got the shutout. Glad the guys played hard to the end to get him one. He deserved it with how he's played this year.

That's the thing. He was fine. So was Grubauer. And most likely Georgie will be as well.
I'm not really part of the discussion you're having, but I don't think anyone's nominating George for the Vezina or anything, it's just nice that the goaltending is stepping up at a time when depth issues and injuries aplenty have really torn chunks out of their defensive game.

If I was to compare the goalies, I'd say Georgiev might track the puck a little better, and he appears to have a really good glove hand. This could all change tomorrow, but no one can deny that goaltending has played a huge part in the Avs holding serve for the time being while they deal with rampant injuries.

I personally love Georgie, and if he becomes an actual goalie for us long term that would be great.

And like you said, it's quite nice that while we are missing so many bodies, our goalies are pulling their weight.

I don't personally hold any ill will toward any former players from the Cup-winning team. All of them deserve keys to the city of Denver for life far as I'm concerned. That includes Kuemper.

If the Caps do indeed implode this year, I actually don't think it'll be because of goaltending. It'll be because that's an old-as-f*** team that's finally gotten too long in the tooth and way too banged up.
