Eh, sounds like they put a lot of shots on goal but…ya gotta finish and yeah, power play is coming close to setting the wrong kinds of franchise records.

Actually while it may suggest that, they passed up a ton of chances, held onto the puck too long, and over passed it.

There is a reason the shot attempts are high, but our actual shots aren't.

There is zero net front presence on this team right now too.

Overall, I agree with the stipulation that there is zero threatening net front presence from this team.

I felt Leokonen got the crap kicked out of him today trying to play in front of the net. Every time the Avs went there, their hockey sticks were not allowed to get anywhere near a loose puck or rebound. They were pretty much forced high in the air by the Bruin's D.

They needed to extend their lead in the 2nd when I thought they dominated play.

The bumper/slot position failed to execute a number of times. Pucks just out of reach or blocked or checked because (as you said), delays in execution.

Lots of Avs shots ranged wide or tried to unsuccessfully thread the needle. I think Swayman was in their head.

Cale was a bit off too. (He took another puck in the same foot that he winced on.)

Avs have a serious need for a more competent 5-6 D pairing. Malinsky and Middleton are not it.

Both MacK and Bednar need to wake the f*** up. Yeah we lost Rants but there's a reason for that and it involves something neither of you bozos control. Go out there and win the games. That's all you should be thinking. Fire Bednar.
Bednar better realize that his job is close to over. If they were willing to trade 96, then you have to imagine that Bednar's seat is hot. You can't continue to have these shit ass performances.

If they lose all 3 on this trip which is likely, is expect him to be gone as well. He's out of answers.

I don't think they'll can him that fast. Maybe after a disappointing playoff exit if it happens?

Yeah, Lehhky and LOC drive the net, but they can't hang there and over power anyone. Lehhky got absolutely mawled on the PP and couldn't get anything off.

Nuke and Landeskog allow that low to high create chaos and tips thing to work.

It's completely absent without one of them.

Depends on how this next stretch goes. Calgary is back 5 with 3 games in hand, Vancouver is back 8 but have 4 games in hand. If their points lead keeps slipping away the FO may be forced to early to try to get back into a playoff spot.

I just think it seems too fast right after a major trade shakeup. I think they'll give him the rest of the season to figure it out with the changes.

Note this isn't me saying that I think they'd be right to wait necessarily.

this team was mentally fragile even with Mikko. It got 10x worse today. They arent making the playoffs.
I think the playoffs are problematic too. But not because of Rantanen.

Nishkuskin and Landeskog.

And Bednar's usage of his roster. (It was just few nights ago that the 2nd line of Mitts, Lehkonen and Drouin was on fire. Have them been together since?)

BINGO!!!

BINGO!!!

They were not good the very next game. Parsinen, Mitts, and Lehhky scored our only goal today, and it was off the rush.

We are lacking that third dimension on any line for sure, and it's what they default to when they can't snipe it.

Wood actually does bring some net front chaos, but not nearly as dangerous as the obvious two.

I respectfully disagree. The shock and awe will wear off, and hopefully the lack of Mikko will allow it to sink in that ALL of them need to pull more weight. I think they will, but it will be close. First round exit? Maybe. But if Val and Landy make it back, the dynamic and mental toughness changes a lot. I was expecting a loss with the emotional nature of it all (especially Mack). Need some practice and time together to gel. Makar is dinged as well. Wish they all would skip the tournament, but I doubt that happens. The goalkeeping getting fixed is done at least. I still have faith.
