On the second goal you could just see it coming. The whole Avs line was coasting so badly. Everyone and I mean everyone. Just go back and watch it.
Other than that the 1st line had quite a refreshing speed in their play. Something Mikko didnt bring to it. I for the love of god hope they have more chemistry down the line and dont just pass to each other.

Agreed but I think they play too similar of styles to mesh. They looked to be confused today, which is natural for your first game together but it wasn't confusing in a "where is he going" way, it was a "oh shit, we both went here and thought the same thing" way.
If you can have one of those guys on each line, you might start generating more offense.

I actually thought Necas was pretty good tbh. Kinda hoped he played on the right though, but noticed Bednar played Drouin at right wing.

I'm not so sure. Carolina doesn't really have Drouin, Mack, Toews and Makar feeding him the puck any longer.

I believe both top lines need a dirty area worker. Lehkonen is that guy, so is Val. We need Val back in the worst way.

Question: let's say Drouin, Mack, Mitts, NECA, Lehks and Nuke are the top 6.
Cmac said that bringing in Drury, he hopes our 3C is hopefully more sorted. Where does that leave Colton? Could that be indicative of him possibly being traded? Or am I over analysing ?

He is a top9 winger. They saw that he is not a good center. At least till we need more salary cap space. Yes he would one of the first to go.

Necas is winger who can drive his own line if it doesn´t work out with MacKinnon he will make 2nd line very good.

So full strength, that would leave Wood, Landy (cmac said week to week now) & Parss as the 4th line ..... that would be the best 4th line in the NHL

We should be happy for Rantanen, as long as it doesn't come at the cost for Avs. The best winger this franchise ever had.
The good news: today's loss wasn't related to the Rantanen trade at all. The bad news: it's not really a player personel issue at this point (granted, Nuke would help a lot). It's a coaching issue regarding the PP and offensive structure.

For the playoffs, I think if Colton could get scoring again I'd prefer him in the top six as a third wheel:

If they can make due with LTIR covering someone until the playoffs begin (by committee even) it would be nice to see a damn good Dman added at the deadline.
But man...I just have had the feels from the team this year that I should if this was a potential lineup. I would just sure like to see the team win a couple in a row and start to look like they are truly having fun and improving their creativity and execution.
Exactly Rants chose. He chose money over the Avs. Not sure why it's that hard. It really doesn't matter what he does moving forward statistically. He's a good player he will make plays.
What does matter is this shit show of a team we have in front of us. They can't dwell on guys that were traded. You've got the players in front of you and whatever CMac has up his sleeve up until the deadline.
They need to grow up and start playing hockey the right way. They've coasted a good portion this year, now they've lost their best goal scorer. They replaced him with a solid player but it is going to be different.
The effort was fine today, the execution was horrid. This season is going hinge on 29. He is either going to decide to play like he can and not pout about 96 being traded or he's going to pout and the season will be as good as done. Which is it? He pouted today, hopefully he gets over the shock quick and we can move on.
