This is the first time I've felt since The Cup win that this era's window has closed. Just feels like this is a playoff bubble team for the next 5-6 years, then back to sucking for several years.

Why don't we see what happens when Necas and Drury get a few practices in, build a little chemistry. Also, CMac isn't done.

If Necas is so similar to Mack why not try him at C? He's a natural center after all.

2C = Mack lite

CMac said in his presser earlier that he'd not mind if Bednar tried Necas at C.

If Necas can play C then this team suddenly looks pretty deep at C.

If capspace allows it would be nice to add a LHS sniper to the middle 6 or third line, but a 4/5 Dman is a bigger priority, especially if Landeskog returns.

Correct. The Avs tried for hopes and prayers today, and either had their shots blocked, deflected, or missed the net entirely.

It was very ineffective. If the Avs were loaded with big 6'3-6'4 forwards and just got pucks to the point and went to the net, it'd make sense. They do not have that. They can still do that, but not like they did today. This was horrible offensive lack of creation.

It's essentially why the Carolina Hurricanes have been posession dominant darlings for the last few years, yet fell short in the playoffs. They have all the posession and shoot from everywhere, but that's just a whole lot of low-danger nothingburgers.

I will hold onto being bitterly disappointed for players like Byram, Stazz, Rants, Stewart (yes, I said Stewart haha), Mueller and all the others leaving.

That said, we could have 20 Tyler Arnason's wearing our kit night in night out, and AVS will always be my heart.

That's where I'm at. The book is out on this system and they really need a new perspective. But unfortunately I don't see that happening until summer at the earliest.

It's by far the biggest problem with our team at this point IMO. I have no idea why they don't think they should make a change.
