Trade Deadline Call: Bruins and Avalanche | NHL.com
A behind-the-scenes look at a trade call at the NHL Offices in Montreal for a deal that sent Casey Mittelstadt to the Boston Bruins and Charlie Coyle to the Colorado Avalanche

Mitts is so bad they had to pay to get rid of himI get it, Mittelstadt was not a fit here, but to trade at such negative value is insane by MacFarland here. We pretty much traded our 2nd line centre plus some valuable pieces to downgrade to get a solid yet nothing special 3rd line centre. Makes no sense. I like Charlie as a player, even if I believe some of his offence is a bit overrated/valued, he still has the talent to get the job done and that's what you want to see. High worth ethic and can grind down low, but to give up Zellers for him is asinine.
Mittelstadt was already worth 80% of Coyle's value at minimum, and at average level, was worth more than Coyle's value in terms of talent. When I saw the trade originally, it was 1v1, I told my buddy that there had to be more coming for us, but when I found out that we were the ones who gave up more, oh I was fuming. Yes, it makes our team better with better puzzle piece fits around, but to give up more is something I cannot wrap my head around.
He isn't. He is supremely talented with high IQ and passing ability. He just didn't fit our team when it came to 5v5 play and how Bednar wants puck hounds. He never was a puck hound ever in his life and he was never going to use his strengths on the powerplay, it happens. Even Tampa makes bad trades, like giving an entire car dealership of draft picks for a 4th line plug in Jennott. Obviously, MacFarland went into the deal wanting to lose it so he could GTFO, but through those optics, Sweeney took him to town when it didn't need to be that way. Boston is getting a reclamation project who's on a sweet cap deal if/when he's able to get back to a 60 point pace.Mitts is so bad they had to pay to get rid of him
meh he's garbage, I don't think he's in the league after his contract is done.He isn't. He is supremely talented with high IQ and passing ability. Nah, he's bad. I've been on record saying I was duped by Mittelstadt. He isn't. He is supremely talented with high IQ and passing ability. Didn't he eventually get punted by MacKinnon when Drouin and later Necas arrived? LolRemember at the start of the season when he was doing all that skills coaching with MacKinnon? Did we finally find the player who saw MacKinnon's training regimen and noped out of there?

Neither will Coyle but thanks for Zeller and the 2nd.meh he's garbage, I don't think he's in the league after his contract is done.
Coyle did for us in one game more than Mittelstadt has done in 4 months.Neither will Coyle but thanks for Zeller and the 2nd.
Lol, Coyle fell off a cliff this year but I hope he wins a Cup as I was a fan. Like I said thanks for the 2nd & Zeller.Coyle did for us in one game more than Mittelstadt has done in 4 months.
Enjoy that bum, the statisically improbable to play in the NHL 2nd, and the prospect who should be in college right now but is still playing USHL hockey.
