Just stopping by to give some input on Brock, though I imagine most of you are familiar. He’s on the decline, with that said he’s still quietly mobile, with savvy hands. His bread and butter is his wrist shot. Give him a clean look and he’s usually money. Peak Brock was quicker (both hands and skating); but again he’s only marginally declined.

My only gripe with him is that he has the tendency to float and disengage—this has been a long standing issue. He also shies away from contact. His fluid skating, accurate shot, and offensive IQ will fit nicely with the Avs behind that loaded top line.

I was rooting for the Avs before this trade, and well, that obviously hasn’t changed.

Brock Nelson aka Sheriff aka The Rev is such an underrated player. He hardly missed any games in his isles career. He’s a low maintenance guy and can play anywhere in the line up and with anyone. Hes beast suited as #2 center.

He plays on all 3 zones. His best attribute is his shot. Crazy accurate wrister. He plays PP and PK. Just an all around consistent 2way goal scoring center.

I am not sure about Mitts as a third line center, but maybe this helps him refined his game with less pressure.

Giving up Ritchie and a first is really rough, I hope to hell they can resign Brock next year.

Ideally, resign Brock and trade Mitts for a better fit at third line center + a pick.

I look at it this way. Does Nathan Mackinnon and Cale Makar give a shit about Cal Ritchie and a 1st round pick or do they give a shit about making a run at the cup and adding to their HOF legacy? Im 99% its the latter. Didnt Mackinnon say he would trade all the first round picks for Lehky?
