So the Makar offside against Edmonton in the playoffs should’ve been offside by this logic. The puck was off his stick and the Avs tagged up was the call, if you say you can have possession without touching the puck then that play was offside.

Yeah, it's the "he got control of the puck and brought it in" that I'm struggling with, especially since it doesn't look like he even touches the puck before he's completely offside.

It was offside clearly didn't have control of the puck, but refs made the judgment he has control. Very weak IMO.
