Hard work will only get you so far. If you don't have the skill to back it up, hard work is meaningless. The Jets have to work extraordinarily hard to score goals. That's a type of game they play. Nothing looks easy for them. I'm not surprised they're tired.
Hard work is what lead to many of the wins in the early season - yes, it will only get you so far - without it, you don't have a chance.

Pulling Helle when the team in front of him would be complete shit without him isn't that big of a deal. Some of you reach... but, a theme with this group has seemed to have developed, it's not just this season. Cleansing the core wouldn't be a bad thing. Retool not rebuild.
If both your top 6 centers, top 6 winger and franchise goalie are all free agents in a little more than a year from now, that's a rebuild in the making.

Not trading the likes of Morrissey or Perfetti doesn't not make it so.

17 game stretch of .500 isn't ideal, and not like what we had before, but it's far from an inconceivable 'low roll' for even a top team. And like I said, the team absolutely needs some reinforcements by the TDL. But this is far from a bad team. Did you see Shayna Goldman's (objective, stats-based) breakdown of the pieces the Jets have relative to what cup winners have? We're far from a disaster. And suffice it to say, MILES from "blow it all up".

Like why is it that it's only the Jets that are "oh so lucky" but the team 1 point ahead of us with 11 more loser points than us couldn't *possibly* have 'been lucky' to be right where we are? Or other teams right where we're at.

You ever meet one of those poker players who think all their success is their skill, all their losses are their bad luck? We got a lot of the literal exact opposites around here :)

Maybe we don't want Chevy to make a deal? He's going to need to bring in 3 forwards and a d-man. Almost everyone on the 3rd and 4th lines shouldn't be playing.
A far bigger problem is the inconsistency among the "stars." Look at Colorado's roster tonight. They have 11 forwards and about 7 of them are not top 6 quality guys (some have inflated boxcar stats because they've been playing a lot of top 6 with injuries).

MacKinnon and Rantanen are driving play. Our top guys are playing like bums on home ice.

Well I'm not advocating blowing it all up really. But I defnitely don't feel like this team is going far in the post season...

Every year, every team is very unlikely to not win the cup. Just having a ticket to the dance and a dominant player in a key position to have a puncher's chance is worth a lot more than it looks.

Colorado looks like they haven’t eaten for a week, while the Jets are just waddling out of the Country Kitchen Buffet. No hunger at all.

55 will be signed. Helle probably too. If not, they are dealt and they both get a haul in return, Dubois likely goes this draft but I'd bet Jets get at worst a serviceable 2 center in return. They won't rebuild, they will retool. A complete blowup won't happen... maybe it should tho
