I think 6yrs is fair. Security if he does not blow up, but not too long he'll miss on a big payday down the line if he does.
Updated to 6 years.

Gilbert is too low, but don't know what he will end up getting. I'm fine with the other deals, but guy feeling Petry cashes in from Edmonton.

(estimations for 2014-15)
SALARY CAP: $69,000,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,801,929; BONUSES: $2,850,000
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $4,198,071
Less term in Ennis and I am fine with them.
Here is the Avalanche as we currently stand
As for Re-Signings, after talking it over w/ my fellow Avs GM's (since the game started), here is what we have and we know it will fit in to our Cap (I just removed the #'s from up there and will post them down here):
RFA
Tyson Barrie: 2 years $6.5M ($3.25 AAV)
Mathieu Perreault: 2 years $4M ($2M AAV)
Brett Connolly: QO at 1 year $851k (prove it deal)
UFA
Paul Stastny: 6 years $37.5M ($6.25 AAV)
Once these are "approved" (as we've considered them fair deals) then we may be looking at making some additional moves as we have some players in mind we'd like to target for UFA but we need to see if they get there.
I think Perreault gets a bit more after the season he had.
i also think perreault deserves more.
same with gilbert on oilers.

4 yrs instead of 6 for ennis then
i also think perreault deserves more.

2 years $2.5M?

RFA

Mathieu Perreault: 2 years $4.5M ($2.5M AAV)
Brett Connolly: QO at 1 year $851k (prove it deal)
UFA

Perreault should be 5m but AAV is right.
could get risky with having to honor the AAVs in real life, but I think those are fair.
I could see Barrie get a 4m on a longer term deal and Stastny may end up blowing your #s if he goes highest bidder, but you have the space to work with if that happens.
canes offers.
hainsey 3x2.75 mil (i had this number on my mind before the deal, same with gerbe)
gerbe 2x1.6 mil
bowman 1 yr, 900k
loktionov 2 yr, 1.25 mil
boychuk 2yr 750k
malhotra 1 yr, 1mil.
bellemore 2 yrs 1.2 mil
other RFAs wualified except tochkin.
what are we assuming with pitkänen situation, does he play or retire?

San Jose re-signings:
Honored contracts who happened during our draft:
G Alex Stalock (UFA): 2y x $1,6 mill.
RW Mike Brown (UFA): 2y x $1,2 mill.
C Travis Oleksuk (RFA): 1y x $550,000.
Re-signed RFA's:
D Jason Demers: 3y x $3,0 mill
RW Tommy Wingels: 3y x $2,75 mill
C James Sheppard: 2y x 1,25 mill
So Gerbe will need to be 1.75m and Hainsey 2.833m, but you almost had it dead on.
I think Pitkanen will go unsigned to start this season and be on recovery. He could get picked up at the deadline or for next season if he heals well, but I don't think he's in play right now.
Is that 1.2m per for Bellemore (UFA) or 1.2m total?
Those are good RFA deals. Demers and Wingles may be a bit high and could probably get you another year a piece (4yrs not 3), but that is a good way to lock them up early.
