Was he on the team when the Habs eliminated Matthews and the leafs?
"Was that" Your attempt at a question I take it.Was that have to do with keeping his pants on in public?
Teams are completely defending Matthews better this season and there aren't as many crappy teams in the Atlantic this season to pick apart. I still think he hits 50. 45 of them on the power play. LOL
He's no slaf that's for sureHe has peaked, nothing wrong with that. Still a good player, not going to get league max like people were crying about. The truth is in his entire career he's closer to a PPG player than a 60 goal-100 point guy.
Keep the same energy when he drops 20 in his next 10For what? You can just scroll past the thread if it doesn't tickle your fancy ya know.
You make it sound like that's not a late age to peak. Ovechkin peaked at 22 years old. Stamkos peaked when he was 21. Gretzky peaked when he was 21. Selanne peaked as a 22 year old rookie. Crosby peaked when he was 22. Mario peaked when he was 23. Matthews peaked when he was 24.He's peaked at the ripe old age of 25?
Weird that you’ve been looking and comparing. The average person has a little under one breast and one testicle but I haven't seen many of those around recently.
auston matthews is a generational talent and the best player the leafs have had in my lifetime. with ovechkin starting to show signs of being human, he's the best goal scorer in the game by a considerable margin. no 15 game sample size is going to change it. blame him all you want for the woes in Toronto, but they took a highly unconventional route building their roster with top heavy contracts hoping to drag the corpses of long past expired veterans on league minimum deals to the promised land with no defense or goaltending edge against anyone. that's a team planning failure, but it's about 50/50 between the fans and front office who were ready to storm the building if they parted with any one of matthews, nylander, or marner and would have rioted if tavares wasn't signed. the fan approval rating makes more decisions than the hockey ops.
And then he could finally win a round.Matthews may be in a slump now, but every goddamn team in the league would sign him tomorrow.

Oh yes, and the opinions on the forum matter so much.
And maybe Price will sober up this year, so that the Habs can perhaps make the playoffs and not draft first overall.
Mat Barzal started this thread to take the heat off
36 goals would be disappointing for him, when OV potted 32 in 2011 after peaking hard, people claimed he was done and washed out on here, hfboards did not give him a pass.Meh. A little.
But he's still pacing for 36 goals and 86/87 points right now. Not much of a "slump". A good 4 game run and he could be back to pacing for 45-50 goals and 95 points.
