You know he averages 40 ES goals per game over the last 5 years right ? There's still dog shit teams like Buffalo losing 7 games in a row, I'm sure he'll rack up a few against them

Meh. A little.

But he's still pacing for 36 goals and 86/87 points right now. Not much of a "slump". A good 4 game run and he could be back to pacing for 45-50 goals and 95 points.

36 goals would be disappointing for him, when OV potted 32 in 2011 after peaking hard, people claimed he was done and washed out on here, hfboards did not give him a pass.

If Matthews doesn't pot 40 this year expect the same rhetoric.

I personally still think he's going to go on a tear midway through the season, 82 games is a lot.
