Nice to see him more engaged again. Babcock was a damn dementor.
Feels like the 14 minute game and then a Jack Eichel head to head really jolted him back to life.

No one look now, but Auston is on a 50 goal pace and playing the best defense of his career...
Matthews is gunna mess around and win the Rocket if he keeps playing like this.
I wonder if Keefe will give Matthews - Marner a longer look. They looked amazing tonight. In the past under Babcock, not so much. JT - Nylander will also be exciting to see in its own right.
Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Mikheyev - Tavares - Nylander
?

Why is Marner and Tavares a staple?
Why can't we have a Marner-Matthews-Hyman line?
LOOL.Give it up, we tried them for a whole game and a period over 4 years and they were only pretty good other than this game.
Tavares had a career high 47 goals... 47 goals... only just last season.LOOL.
On a serious note, Tavares isn't the skilled finisher he once was.
Marner's talents shouldn't be wasted. He can engineer a pass as good as any one in the league. We need Matthews to be the one finishing him off (no homo).
11 points in 13 games under keefe. Works out to 69 points over 82 games. Fairly certain I saw that keefe has been playing Auston the 6th most out of all forwards (league wide) at even strength.
Matthews has 14 points in 14 games now
This board has Matthews haters?Since it's all about what you've done for me lately for Matthews' haters on this board. He's got 7 points in his last 3 games, a 191 point pace.
7 points in his last 3 games. Looks like auston is heating up. Would be nice if he could close the gap on the league leaders but it's nice to see him produce and play well in his own end.
Looks like marner - Matthews - Hyman could be a killer line for us. Maybe put nylander with jt?
Nylander shouldn’t be anywhere in the top 2 lines if he continues to compete in the manner that he did last night ...7 points in his last 3 games. Looks like auston is heating up. Would be nice if he could close the gap on the league leaders but it's nice to see him produce and play well in his own end.

The funny thing is that this pace wouldnt even top Gretzky's best season!Since it's all about what you've done for me lately for Matthews' haters on this board. He's got 7 points in his last 3 games, a 191 point pace.
You lecturing about haters? You still want trade Marner and believe his last years numbers were unsustainable?Since it's all about what you've done for me lately for Matthews' haters on this board. He's got 7 points in his last 3 games, a 191 point pace.
LOOL.

For sure. He looks motivated. He's finding that game that we know he has in him. Love his hustle lately.
