I get that it’s a captain obvious level question but we cannot be capped out if there is a possibility that McDavid is ready and willing to come. So again does our genius level brass throw money at Marner potentially knowing they could put us in a situation where we don’t have the ability to trade him and we don’t have the ability to sign potentially the biggest UFA ever.

The shills on TV and Radio have been talking up Marner all year and it’s pathetic. I would offer him Nylander money take it or leave it with no trade protection or limited 15 teams. I’d prefer they just walk away and sign other players but that would be my highest spend on Marner if they are just gonna run it back and that I’d give him one or two years before flipping him. That being said if he walks for nothing this summer this is inexcusable from a management standpoint.
