Your conclusion makes absolutely zero sense.

'who knows what else they do together' is the evidence.

Typical of the internet, people immediately accuse them of implying a serious accusation of incest on a harmless, albiet stupid, joke. Probably the type of thing that would be said at a social gathering talking hockey with friends. Probably doesn't fit the code of conduct for media interviews though.

Are the Sedins big boys? Yes. Can they handle this? Yes. They have for years from low-brow fanbases to opposing hockey players.

It still doesn't mean the NHL or the fan community in general should brush it off.

About as dense as the people who think this had any malicious intent to it whatsoever.

That's always the excuse. Some people try to downplay incidents like this like it's nothing and let people get away with insulting others. It's kinda how that whole bullying cycle continues in schools when sometimes the school/parents just brush it off like it doesn't matter.

When you conduct an interview you are representing your team and the entire NHL. It doesn't matter what the intent was, using homophobic language should not be tolerated.

they are pro hockey players, do you think the Sedin's have never heard something like this on the ice??

really stupid if either gets a fine or have to give a forced apology; let the Nucks respond on the ice if it offends any of them.
The only slight problem I have with it is he's saying that as the representing captain of the org, literally wouldn't give a flying **** otherwise (like if Seguin had said it)

Man people get offended about anything these days. Starting to understand why Marshawn Lynch replies how he does. You say the slightest thing and the internet portrays it as you are the next Hitler.

Sure he may have been a little off but this is so minute compared to other things that have been said

Normally I'd agree but this is just not okay. Implying two stand up guys are incestual homosexuals because they still share a room on road trips is just pushing it too far. It's open and public slander and it's unprofessional.

I'm less offended by the groups they undermine here, and think it's ridiculous for comments to be made like this within the hockey community. Keep that **** private.

What they said was minor. The issue I have is that they were on the radio representing their team.

If you want to joke around with your buddies about the twins, go nuts. But to be representing your team and act as unprofessional and childish as they did is pretty ******.

Plus they are both superstars and role models for a lot of kids. A little professionalism goes a long way.

If you can play, you can play.

But we are still going to marginalize your sexual orientation...

I don't think they should be fined because at the end of the day Seguin and Benn embarrassed themselves more than they hurt the Sedins feelings by making those childish comments.

In their opinion, they suggest that the Sedins are strange and possibly engage in an incestual relationship with each other. That's an odd opinion.

Nobody insinuated that. Benn said he doesn't room with his bro, the host implies the Sedins still do. I take the comment of "who knows what else they do" as perhaps they share more than just a room.

Anyway, the whole convo is stupid and of course the internet is offended, up in arms and want justice for the belittled brothers.

They were talking about sharing a room together right before this and it's pretty obvious what they were implying. Social gathering talking hockey with friends? Ok, let's see them sitting around in a circle and saying this to the Sedins faces. I'm sure they'd just laugh it off because they are all best friends. :shakehead

I remember the All-Star commercial when the other players ordered "Swedish twins" into their hotel room which was as "outrageous" as this.. You people offended should look what else is going on around the world..

Well, first off.. thanks for calling me dense. Great way to start a debate I appreciate that.

If Jamie was infact implying sexual context in that comment, that would be implying incest not a homosexual relationship. Everyone knows the Sedins are both married to females and not gay.

I strongly disagree that Jamie was implying sexual context in his comment, the interview started by saying "They sleep together on the road" -- "What else do they do together?" do they shower together, do they brush each others teeth, do they eat breakfast together, do they go to the same restaurant together, etc. etc. etc.

It was a joke that they do everything together, sorry you didn't see it as such.

Yes having wives and being brothers automatically negates the fact that a man having sex with a man is defined "homosexual"

If a guy kills a man while robbing a bank, he's still a bank robber in addition to being a murderer. I can't believe someone's even qualifying these comments by saying "oh there's no double insult, just the one appalling one"

I dont think its funny at all.

Marginalizing twins, the gay community, implying incest with homophobic connotations. That is unacceptable for professional athletes especially when speaking on a public platform. The interviewer baited, they took it. Learn some basic PR if you want to be a pro athlete. Best way for an organization to teach its employees some PR 101: fine them and make them give a public apology.

This goes for any service that is for the public, whether youre working at a corner store and drop an F bomb and offend someone or you are on these guys level.

The fact that the radio station attempted to delete the part of the show where that situation went down should tell you enough about how to deal with this.

Homophobic connotations? Does anyone have a transcript? Because if "these twin brothers probably bang each other" is the essence of what they said, then any "homophobic connotation" is being projected by the listener. Considering they're identical twins, the target is most likely incest; the fact that it would be homosexual incest doesn't necessarily have any bearing on anything.

So as long as there is something worse going on we can justify whatever we want?

They should be because if they don't then it makes it seems like the NHL doesn't give a damn. I understand what you mean though.

But you are presuming that the Sedins had sex together, which they haven't, nor was it implied in the interview.

You are creating a false "homophobic" story out of your implications that they have had sex.
