Good game. NGL, jones looked like Foegele out there at times. Hope he can play at that level consistently. Would be huge.

skinner with a great performance, same with Bouchard. Both really needed this. Hopefully its a start of a good stretch of games.

McDavid, better, but he needs to stop passing it right to the other team

Stu was solid, the best players made it count in the clutch.

Jones - looks like an NHL player, a solid 4th liner with some skill and much needed size.

Dineen - was surprisingly good, confident with the puck in the offensive zone and clearly earned some trust. Solid depth defenseman to have.

A few more changes, things could head in a good direction.

Better effort level, still a complete lack of execution for some reason. Bobbling pucks, missing passes, shots getting blocked, not even getting shots on a breakaway...

Impressed by Jones and Arvidsson tonight though the latter continues to be a big part of the execution problem.

Habs took a bunch of penalties early and then continued taking them knowing they wouldn't get called for anything anymore. Can't believe they stood there and watched Podkolzin take 3 crosschecks in the neck.

Jones definitely playing like a guy desperate to stay up, great game tonight but as with all of these guys, consistency of effort and ability remains the issue. Great start, let's hope it doesn't fade.

Bouchard with frankly a terrible game, McDavid another not-so-great outing, and yet it's those two connecting in OT. Not expecting much else from the morons in management tomorrow, but we'll see I guess. At least it's a win, against a surging MTL squad. Their overall team defence remains lacking to say the least.

Nice to actually win one.

I don’t want to pick on the team much because guys are sick and all that but damn does this team struggle to score goals.

Hate seeing McDavid play 27 mins in these games. Knoblauch needs to figure out how to get more guys involved.

I like the new guy Jones. He's new and the adrenaline is pumping(even Kapanen looked good his first game), but I liked how heavy he was on the puck. He doesn't just get thrown off or panic and throw away the puck when someone physically contests the play. Underrated aspect of why the Oilers have struggled a bit this year, too many smurfs mixed in with guys having down years and not playing with the same level of tenacity(aka, Hyman etc)

Speaking of getting thrown off the puck, Bouchard had a terrible 2nd shift in OT. Actually thought for a second that Dineen was replacing him for the final minute there, and it would have totally have been deserved.

It's good that Ekholm sat for a game too, he has looked utterly gassed for weeks. Hope he recovers soon with some time off, can get a good look at Walman instead of panicking that they have no one to fill in on the top 4.

Emberson continues his rough stretch, played the least amount of minutes of any defenseman, less than even Dineen.

They do but half of those posts and that one’s 5-2 or 6-2
