4-2 loss

Welcome to the Bridge Cholo, goal in his debut
Chris Terry had the other goal.

To do your update some justice, the rest of the story needs to be told. I was at the game. Henrik Tikkanen gave up 2 horrendous goals. The first and third goals, both 1:43 into the first and third periods. The first one was off a center ice turnover. Comet split the Isles D, Tik has full view of the carrier and time to set and just never moved, allowing a short side goal. The other one was even worse. Tik plays the puck behind his net, not under pressure makes a poor clearing pass putting the puck right on a Comet's stick for an easy empty netter.

It's a shame because this was one of the rare games that Bridgy competed for the entire 60 minutes, battling back from 2-0 down at the end of 1 period to tie the game at 2 after 40 minutes.

3-2 loss

Bolduc goal
Maggio, and George with assists

3-2 shootout loss.:-)

And they tied it up late in the 3rd after entering the final fram down 2-0.

I watched the game and just like @MJF wrote above, Bridgeport competed the whole game. They were actually the better overall team and had some dominant offensive zone time along the way. There was even a play where Springfield scored its second goal off a one-timer but the puck came out so fast that they kept playing and Pinho skated down for a breakaway goal.

Got called back after the video review. Bummer! Strange situation.

However, the baby Islanders outshot Springfield something like 41-19.

And that doesn't even count the two outright posts they hit.

Here's the line on Henrik Tikkanen's rookie season so far:

22GP 4-14-2-1 4.33GA . 860 SV%

Last night at home against Providence, allowed 4 goals on 23 shots, all 4 goals in a 7:51 span of the 2nd period.

How do you say it's time to hang 'em up without saying it's time to hang 'em up?

Then again, Lou had an chance to walk away from Jakub Skarek last summer and re-signed him to another NHL contract instead, so anything is possible for Tikkanen.

Last 4 games, all losses

Isaiah George: 2 goals, 1 assist
William Dufour: 1 goal, 3 assists (1 on PP)
Matthew Maggio: 1 goal
Samuel Bolduc: 2 assists (power play)
Alex Jeffries: 1 goal (power play)

For those in know, is Bolduc salvageable and have a shot of playing on the big club? I mostly stat watch and check this forum for the Bridge. He has been on the score sheet more but has a staggering -20 in plus/minus.

I like Foudy and thought maybe he could work his way up but I see he is -22.

The team is all around awful so plus minus I wouldn’t look at. Bolduc could maybe top out as a bottom pair but his hockey sense is just not there.

New topic: Chris Lamoriello

I know people will say the Isles don’t have a great prospect pool and also don’t send their best prospects to the AHL. With that being said, at what point is there some accountability?

It is beyond belief how bad his record is since he became the GM of our AHL franchise. I know this is a rhetorical question because he isn’t going anywhere until Lou is gone, but WTF.

3-2 OTL

Bolduc: power play goal and an assist

New guy, Beckman. Goal and assist
Bolduc was terrific all game long. Decisive in defensive reads. Never caught in between. His pass to Beckman on the tying goal across the low slot was quick and on the tape.

Buuuuutttt....

Henrik Tikkanen again giving up 2 quick goals, this time 27 seconds apart. The 2nd goal beat his glove side. 1 on 1 and Tik never moved his arm. Beat him clean. So once again a night where I think the goaltending sabotaged the team. Stick taps to the B-Isles for continuing to chip away at a 2-0 lead to tie the game in the 3rd period.
