I think the Atlantic will be the best division in hockey (best record vs other divisions).
Habs & Sabres will be the "surprise" risers, laffs & Bruins the surprise fallers.

I think we surprise and I think the Bruins slip. The Leafs still are a regular season powerhouse imo.

It's shaping up to be a super competitive division.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised by any projection coming to fruition.

I think the Bruins are our biggest hope for one of the big 4 falling.
On paper, there are so many good teams. It does look really hard to make the playoffs. It will be really interesting to see who ends up being best on the Dach line, and how well they can do. That will be key imo. Bottow six should be fine as a bottom six. First line should be a good first line.
For sure the defense is also a question mark.

I have the Habs finishing last in the Atlantic and getting a top 5 2025 draft pick.
This is the 3rd year that I predict the same thing. Every year HFHabs tells me I'm crazy to think this...

I like the word 'guess', we don't know the future. Seeing all these bodies go down tonight is a good example and why is Slafkovsky fighting an AHL player in an preseason game? The Habs will have injuries which tests depth which I don't know if they have much of.
I could definitely see the same four as last season making the playoffs, they know how to win. I liked Buffalo's chances of taking a step forward last season, instead they took a step back. Sens could surprise, not a fan of their depth either though. Wings have some young stars, like the Habs they need some other young players to establish themselves.
I pointed this out in another thread, the Habs only won one of their last 17 games within the division last season (1-10-6). So, learning how to be more successful against those teams would help to move up.

Going to be tough for Montreal to get in. Toronto, Florida, Tampa good teams. Boston has surprised as of late. Ottawa could be better we think. Those good bluelines team usually play better than expected

He overrates the Habs year after year.
Last year in November, he had us finish between 11th and 17th. He repeated that quite a few times.

Ottawa coach is Travis Green, see the Canucks and Devils under him. He only managed to make the PO once. They are more likely hanging around where the Habs are again.
Boston will soon learn if their goaltenders were that good or it was their defense. Management isn't caving to Swayman demands it seems and that means their starter is Karpisalo, who was awful last year with Ottawa. And they have no backup, they signed Kasimir Kaskisuo to a PTO but the guy was Dobes backup last year in the AHL...
Tampa lost some pieces at D and forward, and when Vasi went down last year, they had issues. If Ylonen makes their starting roster, we can question their depth too.

I still maintain my prediction. Even with the same lineup, having a steady goalie tandem, kids growing up and Dach being there adds to our totals. Laine was an extra to me. And if he comes back in the winter-spring stretch, good for us.

The Leafs need to win the Division if they actually want to get into round 2. The best team in Atlantic will also win the East giving them WC2.
If Leafs finish 2nd, they're going out in round 1 again. They can't beat any of Florida, TB or Boston.
But, I think the Panthers will finish 1st.
Detroit, Sabres & Sens are all so inconsistent. If Larkin gets injured at all, they're screwed. Their record without him is abysmal.
I'm keeping an open mind as far Montreal goes. Anything from last overall to a playoff spot is on the table.
