Ottawa coach is Travis Green, see the Canucks and Devils under him. He only managed to make the PO once. They are more likely hanging around where the Habs are again.

Boston will soon learn if their goaltenders were that good or it was their defense. Management isn't caving to Swayman demands it seems and that means their starter is Karpisalo, who was awful last year with Ottawa. And they have no backup, they signed Kasimir Kaskisuo to a PTO but the guy was Dobes backup last year in the AHL...

Tampa lost some pieces at D and forward, and when Vasi went down last year, they had issues. If Ylonen makes their starting roster, we can question their depth too.

Oh Boston and Tampa will slide but they have long ways to fall. Ottawa those teams build great defense are dangerous. If Yakemchuk makes team.

I still maintain my prediction. Even with the same lineup, having a steady goalie tandem, kids growing up and Dach being there adds to our totals. Laine was an extra to me. And if he comes back in the winter-spring stretch, good for us.

If Marty doesn't put his pieces together properly it could backfire. There are some hard decisions that have to be made.

Another good pick so yeah, it's a win/win if we finish last in the Atlantic or we surprise and move up to 2nd or 3rd last. I personally think we are in the mix with the Wings, Sabres, and Sens.

Laine going down hurts but there is still some growing talent on this roster. Should find out today how long Lain is out for. Looks like months or the season

Exactly, the current lineup (with Laine out) won't hold up for long. Injuries will happen and sadly, we don't have much depth.
We're going to battle for bottom 5 in the league once more.

I like my veteran D actually. Nothing like experience. Seems like most crucial mistakes are made by young D. I would have one rookie and one young 3 or 4 year player at most.

I have no interest in trying Anderson in the top6 again. We've seen it, and we know what it looks like.

Just looking at the average age of teams' veterans in camp (any rookies making teams opening rosters could bring these averages down slightly):

The league average is usually around 27 years old. Most are not far from that. Habs and Sabres could be the two youngest teams in the league right now. Surprising how old the Wings are (Kane 35, Petry 36, Talbot 37 etc).
