Jokerit selects G Harry Lumley.


1st all star G in '54 and '55

led the NHL in sv% in '55, but i am not sure if data is available from before '55. i don't know what lumley's other numbers are after '55.

based on my readings in old newspapers, ted kennedy's hart trophy was dubious, and i think lumley probably should have won, since he was runner up and was mentioned often as a hart contender in '55.

solid pick - it was a toss up between him and griffis for me. i ended up going with griffis because he was a better team-oriented player (i read a few accounts of ross' selfishness). either way, a great pick.

on a side note - can anyone take a list?

Fair enough and this is only one quote in my intitial searching for Ross, but...

I'm going to reserve judgment and wait for Eagle. Based on the 2nd guy on his list, I'm not confident enough in saying that he meant it for both picks.

He should tell you this when he gives you a list.

But if he doesn't, you can't assume.

Really, he should give you a list for each pick, if he has two coming up so close.

I definitely don't think he wants the same guy for his next pick as he did his previous list. He said he was looking at Martiner and Drillon (RW's) for his next pick earlier, wheras he got a LW for pick #232.

Don';t think we can use that list for EB's next one.

Absoltely not.

Both players he listed were of similar style and played the same position, so he obviously wanted to fill a role.

I don't have time to skim through the draft, I just look at the first post to see who was selected.

My list for #232 is intact.

My list for #237 only had two names: Vladimir Martinec and Gordie Drillon. I should be able to connect in less than 12 hours to make my decision on pick #237.

I need someone to take my list for #232.

Yeah I think it definitely means he's getting skipped but it also means that he didn't want the other guy on the list you have I think.

Yeah, I think it's established we're not using EB's current list for his next pick. It seems he didn't expect the draft to move at this pace to his next pick, as he would have left a list for that one. Oh well, SEND ME UR LISTS.. and I'll make the picks in the AM if I go to sleep before EB picks.

as for the list, to be honest i've been looking at all my options for 3 hours and I'm still undecided , tough choice for me

i thought a lot about picking holmes. he won the cup with 4 different teams and reached the finals 7 times.

he apparently played very well in 1917 finals, according to a summary i read. apparently struggled with didier pitre's shot in game 1, but was excellent after that. he was also very good in 1920 finals. i have not read much at all about the other finals.

but i did not like that he was never voted best goalie in PCHA.
