That was a great "process" game but we didn't have the usual free and easy finishing. Everything else was solid, from the cycle game, constantly creating looks, good movement and creativity on the powerplay, and out of this world goaltending. A few posts here and there as well. Feels like one of those complete efforts that they had vs Edmonton. If they're doing this 80% of the time over 82 games and feeling comfortable keeping to the game plan, I think they're in better shape than if they won this on a run and gun shit show.
One thing they need to improve on is when they try to break down the slot defense they need to be in better body position to cash in on rebounds or have cross crease looks. A lot of times they look spun around and not really aligned body to net because they're trying to maintain possession and getting pushed out of those good looks. Just like Montreal Game 6 OT they spam the opportunities but aren't necessarily breaking in with good body positioning on the goalies. Maybe a Jack Han could explain what I'm trying to say in a more studied way.
