really love his shot. Look forward to seeing more of it through camp and preseason.

Thing to remember about Zadina's NHL readiness:

-He's not a one trick pony. He's a scorer who's dedicated to the defensive side of the game, something that the wings will continue to develop with him.
-He's a late 99 birthday. The difference in age between him and Rasmussen is 7 months.

I was honestly thinking he reminded me a little of Pavel. Just a little.

I did notice he is a lot more agile that I thought

I haven't been this excited about a Red Wings prospect in a long time. Love his shot, his commitment to two-way play, and that bit of swagger he demonstrated in his post-draft interviews. Gotta imagine he gets at least that little 9 game look at the start of the season, right?

I remember when Detroit drafted Hudler, people said he would've been a top 5 pick if he was a couple inches taller and a little bit faster. Zadina sounds an awful lot like that, and with a better shot as well

If he's good enough to play in the NHL, he starts in the NHL.

Do not ****ing keep him down for a couple months to get a better draft pick.

I was in favor of keeping Larkin down a little bit so he could learn to be a center instead of starting the season as a winger in his first year, but there is no reason to keep Zadina away from the NHL unless he proves in preseason he's not ready.

I get the impression that the team really wants him to make it to have someone to build excitement around the team,he's already starting to get pushed in the media and such as someone that can come in and make an impact right away

it won't stop him from getting sent back to juniors if he comes into preseason and truly doesn't look ready but I think they'll err on the side of keeping him up

Is it official that he’s going to wear #11? I hope so.

As far as areas for improvement:

I keep hearing that skating is his weakness...is it mainly his straightline speed that could use improvement ? There’s a clip of him against Acadie-Bathurst where he burned Dobson and his partner on a breakaway after stealing it at the blue line . He can turn on the jets.

He also is quite filled out physically for his height but tested lower in physical tests...how much is more off ice training going to factor in to his ceiling?

Lastly....are Pasternak and Kucherov his best comparisons?

He is a very shifty player in my opinion. So he has plus edgework. I do think his first few steps could get better as could his top gear. Hopefully they will a little. But he has fluid hips as they say in scouting circles in terms of he flashes high-end agility on ice at least. That is why Holland describes him as a dancer, he can go east-west-north-south he does that well. If he gets more explosion into that he can be even better. That is really what Pasta did to become a star in Boston in my opinion is add a little more explosion into his game.

I would like to see him dominate the CHL next season. He would have a very good chance at being the leading scorer. Build confidants and continue to work on his skills. Keep him away from this brutal team for a season. Unfortunately the Wings may use him to build excitement around the team, considering he is arguably NHL ready. But I wouldn't expect a whole lot from him if he plays this year. Maybe 30-35ish points. But why let him struggle when he can be flourishing and further developing.

Theirs videos on YouTube of every shift of his in 5 game stretches. Got me very excited

He reminds me of Pavel with his puck handling. It’s very direct with little to no wasted movement or energy and he makes it look simple but it’s very effective. He’s a hound after the puck, always in constant motion and he just knows how to score in all different ways. Very smart player. Elite shooter

Hudler was a bit of a head case for awhile, too. I remember one year for like half the season he was petrified of shooting. More than once he'd have a wide open net and pass it.

The tent that I've had pitched since we drafted this guy grows taller with every passing day.
I was skeptical about your claims, but apparently it's true. Not only does it reach an incredible 9 feet high when fully erect, but it also retracts when not in use.

Oh yeah, and I couldn't help myself, so I took a picture:

What? What did you think I meant?

“I was telling my agent, if they will pass on me, I’m going to fill their nets with pucks,” Zadina said. “I want to prove to Detroit that they make a pretty good decision.”

“I think I am going to help him do that,” Veleno said. “Our types of games are different — he is more of a scorer, and I’m more of a passer, so hopefully I can help him with that. But I mean, for any player who slides in the draft, obviously it kind of gets to you a little bit and you want to kind of shove it to the other teams that passed you.

“He is good guy, so if we play together, it will be awesome,” Zadina said. “He is a good center, so we could play well together. If he will pass me the puck so I can score the goals, it would be awesome.”

I f***ing love these two already.

Time to bust out my Czech Hasek jersey again.

I have a huge bias with Czech players. They just play the game "right" to me. If I could make my dream team it would be all Czech forwards and Swedish defenders.

Krejci is one of the most criminally underrated beauts to come through the league. I know what you mean, so many have a complete game with creativity so they have been fun to watch for years.
