It says Vesalainen isn't playing tonight, he was injured, face swollen but no stitches or broken bones, but he was feeling sick after the game.
The face injuries aren't the reason he's not playing though, apparently there were some other (previous?) injuries too.
And yea, the coach says he's a HARD DUDE because he got back on the ice even though he was injured.

They don't say anything about how long he's gonna be out, just that he won't play tonight.
I hope it's not a concussion :(

Feeling 'sick' after the game is a strong indicator for concussion. I don't think it is absolute confirmation but definitely not a good sign. Just hope it is not too serious. There are concussions and then there are concussions. None are good though.

after watching a bunch of highlights on both tolvanen prolly has the better shot and skating but vesalainen is bigger stronger and more physical. you have to take what the team needs into account. Jets have skill speed and snipers already what they need is puck retrieval and board play cycling. i think the bigger stonger guy on smaller ice will excel with that. im sure the jets took that into consideration. both players are also most likely 3 years away when we will lose players like copp armia tanev maybe perreault

Ive never seen a more overhyped prospect from a non home team board than what you guys are doing with

this is all I'm saying. All these people are getting excited over this guy because they've seen some Stats. It's a joke.

How many games have you seen from HPK and/or Jokerit this season? I just want to know.

And while I think the gap between Vesalainen and Tolvanen is smaller than it is globally considered, what Tolvanen is currently doing is something we've never seen from an 18-year-old. People are not excited about him for nothing. And it is not only his stats, but having watched a couple of Jokerit games myself I'd say he is a surprisingly complete player already. Yes, he will need to make adjustments to his game when he comes to an NHL rink but he will figure it out.

Back to Vesalainen: I feel he will become a poor man's Wheeler. He has the size and abilities, and his game is also well suited for bottom six duties so the Jets can ease him into the lineup gradually. There is something in him which makes me not to believe in him becoming a 1st line player (I hope I'm wrong, this is only based on a feeling), but a very serviceable middle six winger who can consistently chip in 50ish points per season while also playing some defence is nothing to sneeze at.

The google translation for this tweet implies that it is not a big injury. Is that what it actually says?

I think I might have said in some thread that Vesalainen won't be a NHL player. I take that back. In the game against Canada at WJC he's been by far the best player on ice even if he's not on the score board. Not much of a sample size, but in a tournament where players mostly just scramble around he's been really composed.

He has very little offensive skill. Big and fast and aggressive. I see a future checker.

Well he leads his team in points in Finland, but it's too hard to predict how his offensive game translates to NHL. He controls the puck well, sort of like Armia.

He was very strong today. Played a fast, big game with lots of smart plays.
Looks like a polished Pro hockey player. I like this kid and I think he adds a dimension to the Jets they don't have lots of in the lineup. He's like a faster Lowry.

From what I've seen, probably one of the most polished kids in this tourny. I don't think he's got elite talent, but he'll be a good pro. I agree with you.

Scored a beauty in the shootout today, not sure how to upload a video as I'm not a regular poster

Would be a great complimentary player on any line. Unselfish good hands like Armia ,he will need to continue to work on his quickness and explosive skating though. Plays a pro game at 18 years old patient and poised with some real good size.
