I don't know if you guys realize how lucky you were this guy was available (and Dobson).

He's a sick talent.

He's shot is Boeser/Matthews tier. It could already embarass some NHL goalies.

Add the skating, size, vision, stickhandling and you have a full package offensively.

He and Barzal will be beautiful to watch.

Think MDC lacks the drive, work ethic to develop his game and fight for every inch of the ice. I see a lot of floating out there.

I remember seeing highlights of him and being enamored with his skill when we drafted him. He loves setting up around the slot, in juniors he had the time and space to use his shot.

It's so crazy how he every single mock draft and prospect ranking had him at 5

Maybe 2019-20. Likely 2020-21. LL is not Snow thrusting Bailey and Stome into the league before they were ready.
Come on man Strome was not rushed Bailey yes. Strome was the leading scorer in the ahl when he came up and had over 50 points in his first full season. Cappy more then anyone destroyed this kid.

Strome wasn’t rushed. He was just another wasted pick on a bad skater because Snow and his idiot scouts value “intangibles and character” over having actual hockey skills.
Yes an average skater but to say he didn't have skills is not accurate. I'm sure you we're saying this after his first pro season where he had over 50 points. Cappy and his staff ruined this kids development and confidence.

Crappy totally ruined him, but his skating was awful. His brother has the same problem. Both are looking like 1st round disappointments.

Especially if Tavares leaves, I want him no part of the team this upcoming season.

Wahlstrom certainly looks like a one and done kid.

I'm not all that familiar with BC's program, I hope he is deployed properly and is given proper coaching on improving his defensive play. I remember Bellows was buried on the depth chart at BU and was used as a grinder. When Bellows had a bigger role with Team USA, he was very effective. I don't want Wahlstrom getting screwed on ice time.

I'll have to do more research on BC, but they are typically a strong program. Wahlstrom already has NHL size and thank god he doesn't have skating issues. I think he's going to a beast at the WJC too.

I think he's the heir apparent to Eberle.

Strome was not ready to play at the NHL level at 20 years old so I think he was rushed. You can argue if he was deserving to be an NHL first rounder and if he was not developed by the organization, but this kid had a good half season in Bridgeport at 20 and then promoted to an NHLer until he was demoted and then eventually traded.

He was destroying the AHL, not just good. He was NHL ready.

Dylan's skating is absolutely a detriment, Ryan's was fine.

Wahlstrom is eligible to sign his ELC and play in the AHL next season, his ELC would slide as long as he doesn't play enough games in the NHL.

A decision could come sooner rather than later because if this is the way he goes and signs, he would be eligible for training camp.

who were the D that he danced around? I don't know where I can find the numbers.

So Strome was not ready because he was 20 years old. By your logic Barzal was not ready either. If Strome came up and flopped you have an argument but he did not. I guess your just ignoring the fact that he had 50 points in his first season.

I know it should not have an effect. I don't think it will under Lou, but I'm asking any way:

Did Wahlstrom's chances of making the team out of camp this year get any better after today?
