I think he might actually need to get a little leaner/lose a little baby fat. He's got another couple of years before he reaches top explosiveness.

That can be easily done for him. The thing I love about him is even with his size he moves well and skates well. He’s an athletic and agile kid.

Vladimir Taresenko who Whalstrom reminds me a bit of is 6’0 225lbs. His is probably more muscular than “baby fat” but I think wil Wahlstroms frame he will be able to add the muscle and weight and still be an effective scorer and skater.

Ovechkin is similar as well. 6’2 235lbs.

I love these big boys who can move!

Wally will be an elusive tank!

These 2 tweets on Wahlstrom's twitter feed tell me one thing. He likes snipers.

The only problem I see is that Both Barzal and Pulock seem to perform their best in that area on the PP. Putting 3 guys that excel in that position might not be the best idea(you can argue that Pulock sort of patrols a slightly different area so me make work with one of them but not both)

You could also potentially add Dobson to the mix as he can also blast it from the Ovie spot or play the right point on the PP like Pulock does. For a team that has been so LH shot dominant for so long, we've done a 180 in that regard. It would be an interesting PP trying to fit as many as 4 RH shots on it.

With Judas off the PP, I can certainly see the PP being QB'd by Barzal. I would look for a Giroux or Backstrom model. Pulock has a bomb at the point. It would seem prudent that he and Barzal work the point. I would set up Barzal on the right point, let him QB it from there, He can work it low to Bailey and Lee. The question is who will fill out the 5th fwd position with Traitor's defection. Leddy and Pulock is the other option on the points. Moving Barzal down to the half board on his off wing. I am sure Trotz will find the best combo. The Caps had a decent PP, though with Ovie on it, it is hard not to. :)

The little I seen of Dobson he actually seems to play the right side so in theory you could have a PP with both Pulock(left side) and Dobson(right side)

My 2 cents is move Bailey where Tavares used to play(lower right) and Eberle right hand point(where he generally plays on the second unit)

Both Ladd and Nelson play high slot center-left so I don't see them as good fits and who knows with Beauvillier

I would make Pulock the Ovechkin of the team and let him tee off on one timers when they are on the PP.

Honestly, I’d keep Barz in his spot down low. He can create from there and is more of a scoring threat. He really thrived in that spot.

Great article on our boy at The Athletic today. Really positive points made about his versatility as a scorer.

The Gifted: Islanders prospect Oliver Wahlstrom and the...

When you’re being mentioned for doing similar things to Ovi Taresenko and Kessel you know you’re a good scorer!

Read that the other day. Such a great read and really breaks down what Wahlstrom is all about and how he does a variety of things on the ice to score different ways. So looking forward to seeing him develop.

He's one and done. He's Eberle's heir apparent and will be with Hughes as his RW next year. ;)

Something interesting. I think I read BC is playing him in LW. He’s on the top line. He’s thier OVI.

I suspect the isles view him on the right side though. That’s where he played for the USDP.
