Wow, big goal by Perisic. Looks like it got slightly deflected by the defender there (Juanfran?), but de Gea still should have had that

Argentina is playing great... One of the best teams in the world.

Lavezzi needs to have a little more pride in his own masculinity. What a wuss. The number of times I had to shake things off in the rink and to see him roll around like he's been shot... hard to sympathize.

I enjoy watching both sports, and I played both sports...can't compare the way hockey players are to soccer players. It's embarrassing the way some of these guys act.

Couldn't even get a 3rd place victory in the Copa America. Disappointing.

To be fair, reaching the semifinal over teams like Brazil, Mexico, and Uruguay has to be regarded as a success. They were also competitive against Colombia, a much better squad. A lot of positives to take away from the tournament, as well as negatives that can be used to improve. For example, making sure Kyle Beckerman and Chris Wondolowski never start a game for the team ever again.

It's all about grooming the youth and building the team around Pulisic, even though that kind of wastes Clint's last years. He's a legend and will finish as the all-time top scorer, but he can't do it by himself against a squad like Argentina. Pulisic, Brooks, and Yedlin is a good start.

Rough for Messi. Feel for the guy. Has to bury that one though, but man, that's rough. Poor Messi.

He's won pretty much everything while earning a gazillion Euros.

I'd say his decision to quit international football is a bit... toys out of the pram, prima donna-esque.

Doesn't he already have a strained relationship with Argentina? Love for your country and honor is what drives national team play and the stress and hardship just may make it not worthwhile at this point as and he may not be feeling much love and honor for Argentina. He probably should have waited a few days to cool off before making the decision to quit national team play though. He can borrow my passport if he wants to play for USA...

meh, every team I root for has been eliminated (AUT, IRE, BEL).

Now I just don't want Portugal to win it (and I actually love the country). Not even because of CR7, but because they play like **** and lucked their way into the Semifinale. The ten minutes prior to their tying goal vs Poland showed it best: That team can actually play watchable, offense-oriented football. But they plain and simple would rather destroy the game. Boring, boring, Portugal.

Go Wales, I guess.

Maybe they'll start to recoup some of their treasured eurosnob fans.
