Exciting news from Woodward - China wants to become a world football power. Hope Colleen Rooney isn't too miserable there, starting next summer.

As for MUFC, how much lower will the stock price drop before Louis Van Goal gets the chop?

Worse than Moyes. Mourinho v Pep in the Manch next year?

I see Mix topping this rather sad "most overrated players in the MLS" list, and 3 NYCFC players in the top 4.

I understand that cost-benefit must be a big part of this, given the names on this list. In that case Mix must be pretty horrible.

How Andrea Pirlo, who held Serie A level and played the CL final last june can be on this list puzzles me, though? Has he really declined that much? For a player of that class his salary seems like a bargain?

I have season tix to NYCFC.

Mix is ****ing awesome. Pirlo is decent. Dunno his salary tho.

got tickets to the Champions Cup game between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid and I'm sooooooooo hype

Be prepared to be let down.

I mean, it's kind of nice that these teams travel here to play against each other, but understand what these are. They are nothing more than pre-season tuneups with a bunch of players that no one has ever heard of, or will ever see again.

Took my wife and daughter to the Liverpool - AC Milan game in Charlotte a few summers ago. It was some poor soccer. Liverpool won 2-0 in what appeared to be a scripted result. AC Milan played like they didn't want to be there. Kind of felt like I was robbed for about $150.

Bayern is playing Inter here this year. I have absolutely no interest whatsoever. Actually, the interest I have is to see how poorly this one is attended. The Liverpool game drew about 66,000 (90% Reds fans). Chelsea was here last year and drew 64,000. People follow the BPL here, not much else.

I'm a lot more concerned about tonight's qualifier than anything else right now.

I think the best approach with the Champions Cup games is to wait until last minute on Stubhub, since they tend to be poorly attended as NC Ranger said. It's a fun game for sure but not worth the price of full admission.

Tonight's qualifier is getting me anxious just thinking about it. Hopefully we crush them.

As a kid I use to play the game, I was a goalie, and loved watching "Soccer Made in Germany" on channel 13. This past year I've really gotten into the BPL, thanks to all the coverage on TV. It's fun waking up on a Saturday and Sunday and watching a major sport on TV. Similar to when the NFL had those early games on TV over in England. Since I didn't really have a team to follow, I randomly chose Tottenham, mainly because I thought the name "Hotspur" was kind of cool. But for whatever reason, I seem to be drifting towards Crystal Palace. No idea why, maybe it's the Rangers fan in me...I can't handle rooting for a successful team. If only Queens Park wasn't relegated...

if you want to REALLY suffer you can be an Arsenal fan

Aren't they one of the more successful teams???

Years ago I worked in NYC for a British firm. They hired a lot of paid interns from England to come over and work. I was having a conversation with a security guy in the building about the Rangers and one of the interns asked if I was a "football" fan and before I could answer said, "I bet you like Arsenal." I can still hear the disgust in her voice and disdain in her face as she said, "Arsenal."

I was being facetious

I'm in love with them since the Rangers have been stabbing my heart with a hunting knife this year.

Well good thing you picked a more successful team. I was bored last night and looked up Crystal Palace. Reminds me of another team wearing red, white and blue. Actually the Rangers are more successful then CP.

I'm excited for Jose to take over Man Utd.

I'm cautiously optimistic they'll get this done. I think they know they need to move on from LVG. Part of me fears there's a faction of the powers that be that want Giggs. Hopefully they're watching Gary Neville's saga.

It would be great for the league. Great for the club. Good to see Pep vs Jose again.

Absolute classic in Liverpool tonight

Freaking out in my pindrop silent computer lab at Lovren's winning goal was so worth it
