Orlando roster was constructed much better, so its not that good of an excuse.

Yeah uh, not really. Orlando City had a -10 goal differential, we had a -9. You're splitting hairs. They gave up 56 goals, we gave up 58. I agree that our defense was bad, already said that, but you're completely out to lunch if you think Orlando's was much better.

The biggest difference between us and Orlando is they got the first pick in the Expansion Draft and they got Larin - a 17 goal scorer. We got Shelton with the second pick, who is nowhere near the class player that Larin is. Don't think you can blame Man City for that.

I'm not referring to goal differential. I'm referring to talent on each roster.

Besides Larin, Orlando has three US youth internationals, two Portuguese youth internationals, a Honduran youth and full international, a Colombian youth international and another young Colombian designated player who did well in his first season. There's a lot to build with besides Kaka, Shea, Collin and some of the older players on that team.

NYCFC had a lot less, besides the older players. Shelton who couldn't stay healthy, Poku and Mullins are the only players in their teens to early 20's who can develop into the core. Besides those three and Mix, it's players who are near retirement, loanees from Man City and guys to fill out a roster.

Being competitive in a first season isn't easy and I didn't expect NYCFC to be, but I expected them to build a much more talented roster. The only solutions seems to be getting guys who will fill the seats and getting loanees from Man City. Besides LA, buying "name players" instead of building a talented nucleus has not been a successful strategy in MLS. All you have to do is look to the other NY team. No MLS Cups with the strategy of bringing in the "name players" and without those players they might have a chance to win MLS Cup this season.

Just saw the NBC Nightly News story on US soccer federation's ban on heading for the youngest players.

Is this for real? Why don't they just start using some bubble wrap bundled into a ball?

Are you Man United fans happy with the anti-football that your team plays? LVG might get you guys a Premier League title. Weak league this year.

Nope, hate it. I find myself zoning out more and more with each passing game. It's a shame because his tactics are absolutely wasting the talent that players like Mata, Memphis, Herrera, and Martial have.

I'm more concerned about them getting to the knockout stages of the Champions League frankly. Not advancing in a group containing Wolfsburg, CSKA, and PSV would be beyond embarrassing. By far the weakest group that was drawn.

I wish they had signed klopp.

He drives me insane.

His squad selections and tactics are full contrarian.

His insistence on 2 holding MFs in all scenarios drives me up the wall. The only time he slightly veered from that by playing Basti & Carrick together (leaving out Morgan) was against Arsenal and Leicester - 2 teams with speed that were going to attack.

I'm hoping we get Pep somehow after this season.

I'm not going to complain about results, but its just so, so boring.

Van Gaal is the torts of Football in Europe. Tyrant. Stubborn. But an identity changer. I appreciate what he is doing for this organization. He changed the culture back to hard workers and youth. Man utd will get a talented manager to get the most out of the youth here... But I do appreciate what Van Gaal has done.

It hasn't been pretty, and neither has their boring style, but they needed to relearn the fundamentals here.

Van Gaal did this with Bayern, too.

That is hilarious (and true).

The thing I have an issue with is that he's punished those who don't rigidly follow his possession based system. Memphis and Ander have spent plenty of time sitting, while our play screams out for a lack of creativity.

It's not hard to defend. A lot of their goals have come from set pieces, and blunders by the other team.

It's like watching one massive Rangers PP for 90 mins. Set up in the zone, pass it around, no one shoots. Cross into the box with 1/2 guys there b/c he is afraid to get countered. It's so, so predictable.

I really wish he didn't switch out of the 4-3-3 he employed in the 2nd half last year (when we were starting to be fun and good). Leave Schneiderlein in the holding MF/Pivot spot, and give the other MFs freedom to roam.

United losing to Wolfsburg. If they lose, Van Gaal shouldn't be allowed to leave the stadium still employeed.

Wolfsburg's a better team.

They sure deserve to win, but respectfully, that's a load of ********.

LVG has United playing stone age soccer. So much talent on that team is being wasted. I'm beyond furious that this team could not advance to the knock out stages in what was probably the easiest group draw.

Any other coach would be **** canned before the team even left the stadium. Give the HC position to Giggs or throw money at Guardiola. The team as constructed should be playing a more up-tempo style. Try a 4-3-3 FFS.

Memphis-Rooney-Mata

Herrera-Schweinsteiger

Schneiderlin

Blind-Rojo-Smalling-Darmain/Valencia

should be the starting lineup

Between the Rangers and United, animal sacrifices may be required to make things right. It's been absolute misery for the past month

LVG's most confusing outcome is having a squad that can't hit on the counter.

Man United will not be good to watch again until they get rid of Rooney and Mata. I know the Spaniard is talented but he doesn't belong in the EPL anymore. No power, no pace.

Can things get any worse for Manchester United? No top 4 finish would be horrible in regards to attracting top talent in the transfer market.

Why is Martial playing on the wing? Why is Rooney playing as the sole striker instead of in the 10 position or even in central midfield where he belongs at this stage of his career?

Why is Memphis consistently on the bench? Why is Blind playing center back when it's plain as day that he gets absolutely abused in the air?

Luke Shaw didn't die for this. LVG out.

Hope my Arsenal finally takes the league this year. 12 years since the last title. It's been too ****ing long.

Blind at CB makes so little sense.

Exciting news from Woodward - China wants to become a world football power. Hope Colleen Rooney isn't too miserable there, starting next summer.

As for MUFC, how much lower will the stock price drop before Louis Van Goal gets the chop?
