Full contact?
He always wears them. Part of what makes Kravtsov so special is he actually practises without his contacts, so he gets a feel for the game and it becomes second nature without even needing to use his eyes. In that 20 game NHL stint he actually didn’t wear his contacts, he just wanted a bit more of a challenge.

If Reavo doesn’t play I will punch a hole in my wall
Another reason to hope he sits.

He’s practicing
Great news. Then I'm not sure what the books are thinking.

Not one bit

There will never be a situation I feel bad for a team in a smaller market.

Sucks to suck
Doubt you'll ever feel bad for a team in a larger market.

Unbelievable moment for this guy but he was very off the whole series. He needs to return to form or return to good health for this team making any more noise.

want.

It pains me to post this but I am absolutely horrified by Artemi's playoff performance. There is nothing else I can say. He is out there hurting the team on every shift.

I wish I was exaggerating. If this is how he plays in the playoffs, let's just cut bait now. We have kids who could use those minutes in the top 6. It's about winning a cup, not stacking regular season points.

And I don't want to hear about an injury. This post is not about him just not creating offense. It's about him turning the puck over with brainless, selfish plays on nearly every shift.

He doesn’t want to take a hit to make a play and he’s not moving his feet enough without the puck, go back and watch him for Columbus in the playoffs or go back and watch his first season here

Where’s the shot? Where’s the tenacity on the puck to get it back when he turns it over? Yes he might be injured but if we’re honest he kinda looked this way often all season, he gets his points but that dominant all out guy from the first season has been MIA since the covid stoppage

He did look like this all season, and part of last season. The points are nice - but like I said in another thread, a week ago, I’d rather have an 8M 75 point guy who is tenacious and goes to the dirty areas than a guy who racks up glitzy numbers but plays a sloppy and lazy game. He’s been worse in the playoffs, partially because the intensity is ramped up and he was playing lazy, sloppy hockey all year, partially because he seems to be playing even lazier and sloppier.

There’s one player in the NHL with a higher cap hit than Panarin this year. He has 26 points in 12 games. I’m not asking Panarin to be McDavid. But why should he be paid like him to be a one dimensional player who shrinks when it matters and is actively hurting his team more than he is helping? That 11.65M cap hit is ugly.

I’m sure he’s injured. I’m sure 60% of the guys still playing by now are injured. Maybe his injury is significant. It doesn’t excuse anything. People aren’t bitching about him not producing. We’re bitching about soft, blind passes and forced cross ice passes shift after shit. Trying to dance around defenders in his own end and giving the puck up instead of just making a fundamental play. He’s hurting the team with his decision making, night after night.

And even if somehow, some of that can be pinned on an injury, he did this all season. The numbers might be great, but the only season Artemi was truly worthy of the love this fanbase has showered him with was his first season here when he was a tenacious puck hound. If he lost it, he got it back. He drove the net. That player hasn’t been seen in a season and a half. The player in his jersey has been slowly getting lazier and more complacent ever since.

It’s hyperbole but what was the last great play he made that really sticks out, the pass to Mika on his 5th goal? It sure feels that way at times

is there a chicken and egg thing going on here? does he not get the puck to the net until at the very end of games when we're trailing because that's the only time both Strome and Copp go to the net, or do they think during games, no point going to the net bc Bread won't be trying to get the puck there?

It’s tough for me to judge Panarin because I think he is legitimately hurt and it’s affecting his play. He’s made some horrid decisions but I think the injury and overcompensating leads to bad decisions.

He flipped a switch mid March and played the rest of the season like a man possessed and the Panarin from the first season then left that game with the injury and hasn’t been the same since. The sign to me that he’s banged up is the fact they don’t run the drop pass play from Fox to him on the PP for the zone entry. That’s a plan they ran all season as their go to and they’ve only run it once the entire playoffs after multiple failed zone entries. Why would that change as soon as the playoffs started?

Have there been any updates on Panarin's health? He wasn't there for shirts off their backs when everyone else was, even Sammy Blais. Seems like Gallant always downplays injuries, when it happened he said he could have come back that night if he was needed. I'm hoping he's OK for Tuesday but I'm concerned.
Just a reminder that he wasn’t healthy enough to sign autographs days before the playoffs started.

He also single handedly beat Tampa a few years ago with Columbus. This isn’t normal Panarin, somethings definitely off. I’m fairly certain there’s going to be some injury disclosed as soon as the season ends.

It doesn’t matter what is hurt or how injured he is, it doesn’t excuse stupid decisions.

If he were a tad slow getting to pucks, unable to push through opponents, having trouble handling passes (which he is, which automatically makes me think wrist) that’s one thing.

No injury causes someone to make the decisions he’s been making. That’s just on him trying to be the hero in situations where we just need him to keep it simple. Both he and trouba have hurt us by doing this multiple times this post season.

Gallant is also not doing him any favors if he's actually injured.

If he were playing on the PP and limited 5v5 minutes he wouldn't be nearly as detrimental to the team as he has been so far.

He's injured to such an extent that it's turned a top 5 forward in the world into a slower version of Enver Lisin and Gallant is literally giving him more ice time than every other forward on the team?

Something doesn't make sense here.

I don't think hes as hurt as people think he is.

I think he is injured to some degree at least, but as loki and savebyrichter said, he really doesn't look all that different than he did during the regular season outside of a couple stretches including after the trade deadline. In fact I think it started during last season where you could kind of see he didn't have the same impact all over the ice like he did his first season here. If this is the Panarin we can expect the rest of his contract, not great.

He is trying to play a style of game that gets eaten alive in the Post Season.

Cross ice passes from board to board DO NOT WORK

Not getting the puck deep when you have the chance IS A PROBLEM

He just seems to be forcing the first one and refuses to try the second.

I get it, he likes to make pretty plays. Pretty doesn't win championships.
