Got hurt towards the end of the Preds game I believe. Has looked bad. Honestly, him being out for a bit might be the best thing for this team. They defer to him too much. Laf gets more time. Mika is in the correct spot for him on the powerplay. Kakko gets PP1 time. Sometimes I am not sure if Panarin is the best thing for this team.

Panarin is in his third season with us, which is wild because that’ll be the most seasons he’s played for any team. he will very likely be remembered years from now exclusively as a ranger. and i couldn’t be more happy

I'm hopeful and somewhat optimistic that after his 7 year deal is up he will be worth signing to another short term, cheaper deal to remain a middle 6 scoring forward for us.

Disagree. Health permitting only really stands in the way of Shesty. He has Henrik Lundqvist-type talent.

I will say I'm not convinced Shesterkin is back here after his current contract is up, which is one of the reasons I would have paid a little more now to get 6 years instead of 4.

You don't lock up ridiculous money in goalies anymore, especially not when you are driven primarily by big money to all the players we hopefully will have to invest big money in.

We have a long break coming up too, kinda.

This is my hope.

On pace for 106pts
Most underrated player on our team, this guy gets scapegoated so much while people try to rationalize Lafreniere & Kakko being on pace for 20-something points
I agree with you, but you also have to understand that Panarin is a veteran now and has a mega contract that takes up a ton of valuable cap space. Laf and Kakko are simply at a much earlier place in their careers, and Kakko has been injured for 6 weeks. Even though they were high draft picks, the expectations are (and should be) different.

Vince interviewing Panarin.

He looks as good as ever recently. 40 points in his last 26 games. Career pace of 92 points per 82 games. He is destined for 100.

Great time for him to be getting hot. If we can get healthy and he and Fox keep trending upward again... look out

In my next life I hope I come back as Panarin's line mate. My salary will jump at least double.
