what lol?

Sanderson-Zub was basically a top 10 pair last season.

in terms of EV points last season Zub had 22 which is good for 47 league wide. in terms of primary assists he was 27 league wide.

He had more 5 on 5 points than Chabot and Sanderson.

and won't compete? dude came back from a concussion and was still physical from the get go.

really have no idea what player you are seeing.
Artem Zub - No.2 for your Ottawa Senators

He is not progressing or developing. he is slowing down already so time to move him before he turns into Hamonicov

Pinto or Greig + Zub, and a draft pick. Man it sucks only having one first-rounder this year and next, we don't even have the assets to make decent offers
Let’s fleece Sweeney as Boston needs to rebuild. JBD + 1st round top 32 protected, moves to a 2026 1st top 30 protected moves to a 2027 2nd rounder unprotected for Charlie McAvoy 50% retained.

way to much is being moved here. We don't need a weegar. We have our top dogs in Sandy and Chabot. Just get a RD that can play in the 4/5 position. Carrier would have been perfect without moving a prime young asset. Fabbro could have been had for free

That Russian machine gene kicked in and has him ready to come back early after seeing Ovie come back to the ice 40 days after breaking his leg

Could Zub be trade bait? We haven't looked terrible without him. In fact, our record has been darn good and Zub has looked anything like the Zub we have had in the past. He's owed $4.6M for 2 more years after this one.

He can only really be trade bait if they upgrade him somehow.

Otherwise you have to be careful because Jensen isn’t getting any younger either. There’s a chance he doesn’t have as good a year next season and then you’re really thin again, plus he can walk to free agency.

I don’t know if JBD is a long-term piece so you have to consider we’ve got next to nothing at RD in the NHL outside of Zub beyond next year.

Only way it makes sense is if he is traded in a package for a better RD. Otherwise just slot him in and give Hamonic/JBD a rest.

RD? We don't have any options on the left. What do?

Looks like Sanderson's about to shed his shackles.
I'm not arguing that Zub isn't good but Sanderson has struggled with Zub this year as well.

I get that Hamonic isn't the ideal partner but we have to be fair, Hamonic is playing much better than he was last year; Sanderson deserves better but it hasn't been a disaster either.

His injury history doesn't make him a very attractive trade bait option.

I hope Zub is actually ready.

I’d rather he miss more games than get hurt yet again in a week or two.

Zub hasn’t looked like the usual Zub.

Sanderson has made his share of sophomoric mistakes but his partners including Zub have been very inconsistent.

He’s still having to shelter much older and experienced players which isn’t exactly fair to him.

I wonder which set up would be our best defense. Of course have to give Zub a few games to get back in the groove.

Chabot - Jensen
Sanderson - Zub
Kleven - JBD

or

Sanderson - Jensen
Chabot - JBD
Kleven - Zub

or

Chabot - Jensen
Sanderson - JBD
Kleven - Zub

You can see how good Chabot has been this season and he's back to being healthy, he has a 63.2 xGF% with Hamonic o_O (only 42 mins but still)

Kleven has 51.5 xGF% with Ham (107 mins) and Sanderson 45.5 xGF% (370 mins)

Anyway, JBD has impressive (but small sample size) stats with either Chabot or Sanderson. Kleven has his best xGF% with Hamonic (wtf?). Jensen with either Chabot or Sanderson

Make your choices!

Yeah, we absolutely can't afford to move a Pinto or Greig. We need these guys to continue developing. As of now, we don't expect them to become expensive

Which is why we have to give it time so he can rebuild his value, he needs to play healthy for a while.

He'd be a great add and imo a perfect fit in a Zub upgrade scenario, especially at his very reasonable aav, but not if it's going to decimate their forward depth. If you swapped him in for Zub, you'd only be adding 2 mil per, but I agree, not really in the cards given what it would take and not really the priority, nor can they really spare up front to make it happen.

Ya that’s good, but those 2 were not great together last time either.

I think he’s gone in the summer, not in season.

Problem with both guys was fitting them under the cap. I wouldn't mind had we gone after either, but when people come off LTIR it might make for some difficult decisions

Tbf wasn’t around the time Sanderson missed a peactice because of a “maintenance day”.

Regardless, he’s played the best hockey of his career with Zub.
