Found a better one in Jensen so far in their track record. He’s gone before next year imo, also didn’t realize he was that slow, as hasn’t checked his numbers on edge.
I don’t know if Jensen is better. Jensen has had the better start to this specific season.

I feel like we may have missed a big opportunity not trying Sanderson with chychrun last year

moving on from him at his salary and age because he came back from a concussion and didn't look good is way too hasty.

no one really brings what he brings on this roster and Jensen is 34 and we had to give Chychun to get him.

so what will we have to give to get a top 4 RD that we know can step in and help us?

Top 10 pick? Greig or Pinto ++?

Why not just keep the one we have and give a chance for the injuries to resolve?

He’s gone likely, it isn’t just one concussion, it’s one a year, and he’s had two in a year before. More you have, easier to get the next one, longer to recover.
They’ll use the money via trade or UFA to replace him.

Speed wise, turns out he has Hamonic level speed.

How often are we seeing him get beat due to his speed though? Because that's all I care about.

Speed measurements for D is always weird to me, if you're constantly having to turn and chase guys down, you'll have more bursts over 20, and you'll have a higher top end.

If you're solid in your positioning, you don't need to turn, you're slowing them down to your speed instead of chasing the play.

We should use a centre to get a top 4 RD with Zub moving to bottom pair.
This seems like the best case scenario for the team and Zub. He can't take too many more hard hits and lesser minutes might help him out. Poor guy, he's been broke carrying the right side for so long

Lol he does not have hamonic speed cmon. He's a solid 4 way skater and even the fastest forwards struggle to get separation on him.

There is a difference between being slow and being in position so you rarely have to skate fast. Zub rarely gets beat by speed.

As for the concussions yea sucks they happened.i think the first was a puck and the second that brutal hit. But it's not like players who have had two concussions have their career or play finished. He gets rest and goes through a longer rehab and it will help.

You really start worrying when nothing plays give a player a concussion, but that second hit would have given anyone a concussion.

You have to see how he actually looks after giving it some time. Not trade him and hope you can pull out another Zub.

Exactly it's like saying Lidstrom was a bad skater, when the reality is that he rarely had to skate fast because he was always in position.

I didn't think Zub was that bad overall, but he had 2 instances I remember where he coughed it up directly to the other team, got walked, and the team scored goals that went a long way to deciding the games. That seemed out of character for him.

Recent studies in the medical literature conclude that mental health may be highly contagious, much like infectious diseases.

I'd flip him in a package for Weegar, not sure how we're convincing Cgy though...

There is a thread on the mains about fastest/slowest
Top speed among D, Zub came in at 11th slowest to date in league. Hammer was 19th.
Speed bursts over 18mph, the lowest burst they measure. Zub was 7th slowest in league, Hammer didn’t make the slowest 20 in this category.

Pinto or Greig + Zub, and a draft pick. Man it sucks only having one first-rounder this year and next, we don't even have the assets to make decent offers
I proposed a Norris + Zub + package for Weegar + less than desirable salary on the main boards. Didn't get much engagement or positive feedback on that, but maybe Pinto in there could change things.

He has been terrible the last two years. It needs to be said and out loud. He is slow, unimaginative, brittle, won't shoot, and doesn't compete

Yes. I would throw in Greig with Zub.

Looks like we overrated the hell out of this guy because compared to the rest of our defense he was good, and now he's a broken man who belongs on the 3rd pair.

what lol?

Sanderson-Zub was basically a top 10 pair last season.

in terms of EV points last season Zub had 22 which is good for 47 league wide. in terms of primary assists he was 27 league wide.

He had more 5 on 5 points than Chabot and Sanderson.

and won't compete? dude came back from a concussion and was still physical from the get go.

really have no idea what player you are seeing.

Not sure where you got your probabilities from but okay.

I really doubt Staios and Alfredsson two defensive studs are in a hurry to get rid of one of the few guys who takes pride in playing defense on this roster.
