It’s essential to learn the right lesson from the City game - we need to be the best team on the planet to win the big trophies because referees won't stop killing us. 01/02 was won by scoring in every single match. 03/04 was won by going unbeaten. That's the standard Arsenal need to win the league. Exactly. We need to find pride in that though, fans of artificial projects like City/Chelsea and cheats like United won't ever feel the magic of supporting the mighty Gunners. The corruption against us is still very very prevalent, although it isn’t as bad as when Ferguson was United manager.

I genuinely can see us becoming the best team on the planet again though.

What an embarrassment for the organization. Now it puts more pressure on the team to win against Liverpool in the Carabao which is a huge order.
 
A day later and I'm still p****d with Xhaka. Hope that's he last game he's ever played for Arsenal. Terrible play who is nothing but a liability.
The boys did well to earn that draw though. Win at home and it's on to the final

@Jussi going to love this, but DT from AFTV was sentenced to three years of prison time for stalking and holding his ex-wife/GF at knifepoint while also threatening to commit suicide.

I read about it yesterday. That's absolutely terrible. I guess he hasn't been on AFTV this season apart from January 1st (?). But they've banned him for life.

It's Calvert-Lewin > Vlahovic > Isak for me. Mainly because the Everton striker has already proven he can score and play well in the Premier League. Vlahovic might be the best striker in Arsenal history or may be a bust in the PL, or anything in between. Isak is overrated, he has no business being in this conversation.

You don't fancy Serie A? I think it's the second best league after the EPL this season considering the fall of La Liga and Ligue 1 clubs besides PSG getting hit with post-covid financial issues. As I posted in the transfer thread, each player is quite unique in their strengths and weaknesses.

Vlahovic for example is a shot-volume striker who shoots a ton and has great track-backing ability (he's a pretty bad possession player and doesn't really link the play). Isak on the other hand is an absurd ball possession player, is great at link up play, and does have a high shot-volume, but isn't as good tracking back as Dusan is (though is better than a lot of other #9's). Lastly, Calvert-Lewin has the best ariel traits of any of the targets and has scored majority if not all of his strikes within the box. He also possesses the best defensive stats of the three, but is not a volume shooter. However, he does have a great xG rating when it comes to ball placement and high-chance rebounds from his shot selection. His ball-possession and link-up play numbers are all below-average though.

Vlahovic scores a lot of penalties. Maybe Arsenal haven’t learned from the Pepe signing?

Auba doesn't fit into the team anymore and if the reports of him being sent home from AFCON because he was partying then he shouldn't be anywhere near the young players.

Those were bullshit, untrue rumors based on what every credible source has said. And I don’t agree about Auba not fitting into the team. Laca does not necessarily offer more and at least needs competiton, better competition than Nketiah. Aubameyang did play really well for two months this season though. And obviously Arteta’s way of playing needs work more than Aubameyang who was absolutely elite until Arteta came.

Auba is Ozil 2.0. The problem is you want to keep a player that doesn't fit into the system that is being played now and going forward.

And the party issue was reported by L'Equipe.

Laca offers more but lacks physicality so that's why it looks like they're looking for stronger strikers.

Özil just like Auba was never ever a problem. Özil up until 2020 was one of our best players when played. By far our best football under Arteta was december-match 2019/20 with Özil running the attack from a deeper role. Both Özil and Auba still had undeniable world class abilities when the board/manager started to demonize them for no reason.

In both cases, we lose out on superb footballers and huge assets in favor of a manager who has no idea what he is doing.

Lacazette absolutely does not lack physicality. He is a beast and dominates duels. He lacks threat in behind, movement in the box and aireal ability. This is the issue.

For players like Ozil and Auba they need to offer a lot of offensive output to make up for the lack of overall team defence they offer. The problem is Ozil and Auba's output dried up so the team is pretty much playing with 10 men. The team could maybe get away with it if the midfield was better but it's currently not so might as well get rid of Auba's high wages.

Horrendous analysis. I do not agree. Özil was key to everything we did in possession in pre-lockdown Arteta teams. Our best player in terms of ball progression from deep and chance creation and one of the best pressers. His role was nothing like the one he played under Emery. As for Auba, his work rate and defensive contribution was never a problem. Link play and dropping deep is what Arteta thinks he lacks.

The wage bill does not need to get smaller. Not at all. Don’t be a Kroenke apologist. We can afford the wages. Our wage bill has already gotten way smaller. Lets use a 25 goal striker instead, and get rid of the man tanking his value.

Or maybe get rid of the guy that isn't offering much anymore, is becoming a disciplinary problem and using those wages towards someone younger that can potentially offer more than currently what's being offered.

So Laca can score three goals from now until the end of the season? No. We use our best goalscorer.
